I pulled away from her and smiled at her, and laced my fingers through hers. I noticed something was missing, and I looked down at her left hand. "Where's your ring?" I asked.

"Oh, my ring. I think the kidnappers took it will I was sleeping." The Melody clone said.

"Why would they want the ring, though?" I asked.

The Melody clone shrugged, then said, "I don't know, Derek." 'I can't believe I forgot about the dang ring!' she thought to herself.

"Well, it doesn't matter, I suppose. If I have to, I could always make a new one," I said. "All that matters is that you're here and you're safe."

I struggled against my binds, then I somehow managed to remove the handkerchief from my mouth. "Derek! She's the clone! Get away from her!!!!" I screamed as loud as I could.

I pushed her hair away from her neck and looked at that spot that she had said she had a strange feeling at. I noticed a black star-shaped mark that hadn't been there before. Something was seriously wrong. "Who are you?" I asked.
