Ashelin placed a strand of grass on the end of the line. Once they reached the lake threw the end of her line in and sat back on the bank to wait for a fish to come up to the surface. Zogamon watched her closely, very confused to what she was doing.

"So, the fish bite the line?" Zoga asked curiously.

"Yeh, but you have to be quiet or we won't catch a thing. Fish are sensitive to noise so we have to keep the noise down" Ashelin said sitting back against the back.

She looked over at Elecmon and Natsu quickly as they arrived at the lake before turning back to the rod which hadn't seemed to move unfortunately.

"Bite the line?" Elecmon interfered? "So you don't plan to beat the fish up?"

Natsu laughed again. "Sure not, silly, but, please, try to be quiet. Ash is right, fish won't come if voices are too loud."

Elecmon's face turned red. So she wants him to be quiet... fine... he'll be. But... how come he was wrong? And Natsu seemed so nice when scolded him for being loud, but, in reality... was she angry? He went to the near tree and laid. He decided to wait here until Natsu finishes with the fishing. She'll forget about this soon anyway.

Natsu turned to Ash, "How is your fishing going? I can't seem to catch anything!" she said, in a nervous manner.

"Nothing yet and I don't think we will if you all keep-" But Ash broke off as she felt something tugging on the end of her line.

Forgetting herself for a moment, she looked at Zogamon and smiled. The began to pull the net back in. Because it was only a quickly made one, Ash had to be quick to ensure that the fish didn't get away. Luckily she got it to the surface and onto the bank in time and after a while the fish ceased splashing around helplessly. It looked like a rather big fish and would feed her and Zogamon to fill their stomachs, so she hoped Natsu would also catch something so they could all have a full meal later.

"Try over where I was. Fish shoal, so there will more than likely be some in the same area I was in" She told Natsu and Elecmon.

"OK," said Natsu. She was grateful that Ash wanted to cooperate.

She sat on a place she showed her.

"I hope we catch something." Hope was all she could rely on, as Elecmon was obviously getting nervous, jumping around her and mumbling some words she couldn't understand. It gave up on waiting past tree a long time ago, it seemed like jumping is much more fun.

"Elecmon, if you stopped, we might actually catch something, but this way..." she said, in a more cheerful tone this time. She realized her attitude must have scared him before.

"Wait..." her line started tugging. "Something has bitten!" Her face got that ear-to-ear kind of smile. "Right when I started to think this whole lake had only one fish," added she, giving Ash a strange look.

She was pulling, and pulling, and finally it came off.

"Hmm, it's a nice one. It should be enough for Elecmon and me to have for a meal," she said.

"And what about them two?" Elecmon protested.

"They have a fish for themselves," said Natsu with a smile. "It should be enough for them. Plus, I'm sure Ash wouldn't give her part to you, if we hadn't caught anything," she added.

Ash picked up her own fish and looked over at Natsu and Elecmon who now also had a fish. She was somewhat relieved they had caught something for she got incredibly irritable when she hadn't eaten properly. With that, Ash turned and began to walk off towards their little makeshift fire. Thoughts began to run through her head then. How would they get home? Did she want to go home? Where were they? Why were they here?

When they arrived back at the fire Ashelin sat down and placed her fish just above the fire to cook. She'd never cooked fish before so she wasn't sure how well it would turn out.

"I hope we won't have to do this every night" Ash complained.

"I am sure we will find some other food tomorrow Ash" Zogamon said cheerily.

"We probably won't," said Elecmon, in his usual pessimistic tone. "This isn't a place where food falls from the sky, you know!"

Natsu looked at him unapprovingly, but, at the same time, she was amused by her attitude. She too was scared about what will happen to them next few days, or months, or maybe even years, but she didn't want to show that off. She didn't want to be seen as a coward.

She also put her fish above the fire so it could be cooked. She's done that a few times before, so her technique was decent, but she didn't like doing that at all.

"This job is boring," she started whining. "And it's so hot in here, that I..."

"Well, if you were just eating fish normally, without doing those strange cooking stuff, it wouldn't be that way," said Elecmon honestly.

Natsu just gave him a vituperative look, not saying anything more.

Ash sat in silence for a while as the fish roasted on the fire. She was deep in thought wondering what was going to happen to them now and if Tai and the others were here too? She hoped not. It was bad enough being in an unknown land without a load of other kids she couldn't stand in here too. She was just about dealing with Natsu and Natsu was nowhere near as annoying as Tai and his gang.

Zogamon sensed the unease of the group so looked over to the fire.

"When are the fish ready?" He asked.

"They should be done now actually" Ash said, snapping out her trance and going over to the fish.

She took a small pen knife out of her pocket and cut open the fish to see if the meat had turned white. Sure enough it had, so she took hers off the stick, sliced it in half and gave half to Zogamon. She did the same for Natsu and Elecmon, handed them their piece but said nothing before retreating back to the tree to eat her own piece.

"Oh, thanks," said Natsu, and smiled at Ash. She was rather surprised she was that nice to them, when handing them a fish. She took a few bites, and ate her part.

"It's really tasty!" she said. "I only wish we had more," she added mumbling, but she wasn't that spoiled to start whining for it. She knew they couldn't find too much food at this place. At last, they were on an island... even if they find something, they will be left with no food at all, very soon.

"I have to agree with you," said Elecmon, interrupting Natsu's thoughts. "This... crooked, or however you say it, fish isn't really that bad. It's delicious! I always used to eat raw fish, you know. I had no idea about those means of yours..."

"Elecmon, you talk to much," she added, with a laugh. She was glad he could change the direction of her thoughts. Not that she didn't want to think about their dark future, but maybe not now.

"Umm," she asked, "is this island everything in this world, or is there something else?" she asked.

"From what I know, this is all, or at least I've never heard of anything else. Have you, Zogamon?" he asked his friend, hoping he could give Natsu better explanation. He doubted it, though.

Ash finished her food and Zogamon's portion disappeared in a matter of seconds. He yawned slightly before wandering over to his human and lying down next to her. Ash shifted away slightly feeling uncomfortable, but Zogamon seemed not to notice as he was so tired.

"Shouldn't someone keep watch if we are sleeping?" Ash announced as Zogamon drifted off into a light sleep.

She tutted with annoyance and looked over at Elecmon to see what he would say about how dangerous it was here at night.

"They are gonna ignore us forever, right, Natsu?" asked Elecmon, with a loud sigh. "Nah, that can't be helped," he said, and laid next to Natsu.

She smiled at him. She knew that could not possibly be true, as she saw something in Ash's eyes... something familiar to her. That's why she knew she'll stop being such a jerk someday. She just needed to open up a little, that's all.

"Yeah, she will," she said loudly.

Just after hearing Ash's suggestion about keeping watch, she realized how dark it was already. Such a long day passed, and it seemed like it was still morning... nah, that couldn't be helped either.

"We can have turns. Elecmon and I can start, if you want, I'm not sleepy," she said, and smiled at Ash.

Elecmon was grateful Natsu planned to include him to keep her company while they watch. That meant she finally completely accepted him.
