"Do you want me to come with you?" Elisa asked.

"If you want to..." Leon said, looking at his cousin.

"I'll only go if it will help you with your confidence to ask," Elisa said.

"I'd appreciate that, Elisa," Leon said, smiling, soon walking down the stairs to go to the garden.

Elisa smiled and followed her cousin out of the castle and into the garden, but staying a good distance behind so that Leon got the attention he needed.

Leon looked at his mom and aunt, seeing Marianne in his aunt's arms, then he sighed, then cleared his throat, making Anna look up at him.

"Leon, how are you feeling?" Anna asked, looking at her eldest.

Leon swallowed, then he said, "I feel alright, I um... I wanted to ask you and Dad if maybe... we could um...."

Elisa put a hand on her cousin's shoulder as reassurance and gestured for him to ask the question.

Leon looked at Elisa, nodding his thanks to her, then turned back to his mom, saying, "Could we have another family vacation? Just me, you, Twyla and Dad."

Anna smiled softly, then she said, "Of course we can. But you'll have to ask your father." Leon nodded, smiling back.

Elisa smiled as well, happy that her cousin had finally worked up the courage to ask the question. She hoped he wouldn't have any trouble with asking his dad. She noticed her mom smiling at Leon as well. So apparently her mom thought it was a good idea as well. That was good.
