Dusty went ahead and was about to say what she wanted to say, but suddenly she remembered the wolf's threat from last night and she hesitated. Annabeth's father was again silent for a few moments before speaking up again, "Then we'll arrange a ceremony by the traditions of course." surprisingly he was a good father and a kind one at times. The dog gave Steele a look telling him that he shouldn't bother lying to him, "My father was on the team." he looked as if he had expected Steele to lie to him.

Steele said, "Then your father needs a new brain since it was Balto who made a fool out of me!" Annabeth just nodded her head. She knew she could never tell her father who she truly was in love with...meanwhile Kirby looked confused that she was holding back. "Something wrong Dusty?"

The dog snorted, "Yeah. I'll go with that and ignore the fact that my father and everybody else nearly froze to death out there." he said and left. Annabeth's father was again silent, and after a few moments went back into the den. Dusty looked pretty sad and shook her head and her tone was shaky, "No." suddenly the vet came and placed her on the examination bed to take a look at her neck. "This isn't going to hurt." he glanced around at Kodi a few times as he removed Dusty's bandage and replaced it with a new one.

Annabeth then followed him. "So does that mean I have your blessing?" Steele cursed and tried to follow him. "Hey wait where can I find that wolf-dog?" Kirby meanwhile shook his head and looked at Kodi, "What got into her I wonder?"

Her father looked around at her and rolled his eyes, "Yeah yeah. Blessing, whatever." The dog continued walking without even lookingaround at Steele, "Oh I dunno." he said sarcastically, "Maybe somewhere in the village?" Kodi wasn't there when Annabeth made the threat to Dusty and had no idea, "I don't know. She's probably still shaken-up, it was a wolf that bit her like that."

Kirby then said to Kodi, "And you tried to kill that horrible wolf right?" Annabeth sighed as her father brushed her off like that. "Thank you." She walked over to the wolf, "I said we were 'in love' so that my father would not suspect anything. Try to make it convincing or it will be both of our lives ended." Steele said, 'You don't know where he is specifically?"

Kodi shook his head, "I was inside. I mean, I think it was a wolf. If I heard what the doctor said properly..." Annabeth's companion looked at her with his mouth open. He whispered, "You did what now?! Have you gone nuts?!" The dog again snorted, "No."

Steele said, "Thank you for your great help mutt. Now go back to the obscurity of your existence where you belong." He walked away and continued yelling Balto's name. Kirby said, "If we see any wolves again we'll kill them right Kodi?" Annabeth sighed, "I had to say something or he would have gotten suspicious."

The dog just continued walking and said to himself, "I knew my father was right. Man that guy needs a hobby..." Kodi looked at Kirby, "You? Kill a wolf? I don't think any of us can do that." Her companion sighed in frustration, "And now what?"

Steele continued yelling Balto's name. Kirby said, "If Dusty is attacked again I think you would find some way to harm a wolf. Do you know what wolf specifically did this? If you do we'll kill 'em." Annabeth sighed and said, "I dunno. I mean we're going to have to act a certain way when my father is around."
