If only this nord really knew what she knew. She'd been a selected candidate to join the Dark Brotherhood. She knew their ways and how things worked. But it was better that she acted stupid and just went along for the ride. Just playing it off as some dumbfounded thief who wound up in a bad situation through her own actions.

[s]"You have no idea what the dark brotherhood is?"[/s]

Tali replied. "I know it's an assassin's guild but nothing more."

[s]"We are located in Dawnstar now after our home sanctuary was wiped out. There arn't many of us left now because of that and it's my job to make sure we don't let people forget we are still out there."[/s]

The young breton lifted her eyes at Silver, noticing the hint of gloom in her voice while she spoke. Tali pondered on her next words thoughtfully. "I was off distance but I heard the explosion at your sanctuary. That was a nasty bit of work done by those soldiers. I.. um.. I'm sorry.. about your losses. I can't imagine really." Tali frowned to herself. Whether or not the nord believed her, she was being sincere in her sorrow for her. She couldn't imagine losing a family, no matter if they were blood or not. Plus she didn't want to be on her future leaders bad side. Especially if dark secrets crawled to the surface any time soon.

"They'll pay for what they did" Silver almost snarled.

She left out the part of Astrid's dying words. To kill the new leader of the group who tried to wipe them out and to find this Tali, whoever she was and wherever she was. Sighing, she gently held onto the hilt of the dagger as if for comfort as she led Shadowmere up the paths. Ahead she saw a sign and turned right towards Dawnstar.

The silence was soon causing her discomfort so she began to think of something she could talk about that didn't involve her showing the grief she still bore under those eyes.

"So, what's your story with the whole werewolf thing? Were you a companion?"

The stilled silence around Tali made her incredibly uncomfortable. The tension was so thick around them, you could cut it with a knife. She thought of things to say or stuff to do on their way to Dawnstar. The ride seemed to literally take eons but finally they were reaching Dawnstar. Hopefully it wouldn't be to far ahead. Suddenly the nord spoke up, catching Tali off guard and somewhat scaring her.

[s]"So, what's your story with the whole werewolf thing? Were you a companion?"[/s]

Tali remembered her time as a companion and a briefer time as Harbinger. She recalled the heated battles she was in and the man she had nearly given her heart to. Sometimes she wondered what kind of life she might have lead if she didn't leave. By now she might have been a mother and a happy wife. Though she didn't regret her choice, it probably would've saved her future heartache.

"Aye, I was a companion. It was just over a year ago. I rose amongst their ranks and became Harbinger actually. But I didn't stay due to a personal dilemma involving my lycanthropy. It was uncontrollable and I feared the worst so I left. I don't regret leaving but I do miss.. them.. him. What about you?"

Silver listened to her story and she too had flashes of the past. Like Tali, she too had walked among the companions for a time. That was three years ago and she was exiled. Her thoughts turned to Farkus and she let out a sigh at the memories. How close they had been. If this was the way to let out her guilt and sadness she was going to take it.

"Small world. I was a companion once too, but years ago. Until I was exiled from their group for giving them a bad name when news of my sister reached them. Heh, they couldn't bare to look at me when they knew what my blood was doing out there. So, I was chased out" Silver said sadly, gently stroking the scar down her face as she remembered obtaining it when Farkus had locked swords with her out in the wilderness.

Silver had won that fight and had a chance to end his life there and then, but.. She didn't. She transformed and ran into the wilds never to be seen or heard from again. She laughed sadly.

"For a time, they had a bounty on my head. Telling everyone I was a rogue werewolf and to kill me on sight if they saw me"

The breton retraced her memory inside of her head. Reminiscing in the good and the bad times spent with the companions and Vilkas. She smiled to herself as the thought of Vilkas crossed her mind once more, she bitterly smiled to herself as she caught the rest of the nords words before she decided to speak up.

"That was a unjust of them to do to you in my opinion. If I were there I would've had to put my foot down." She began to trail off, but a cold rush of air brought her back. A sigh escaped from her as she went on. "Heh.. you know. I really miss those louts. Especially Farkas and Vilkas. I don't know if you remember them or not though."

( I have an idea. After Tali and Silver sort of talk/bond they can return to the sanctuary and maybe Babette or Nazir recognizes her. )

Silver felt her cheeks go hot at the metion of Farkus' name. Her eyes bulged and she tried to keep moving and walking normally as they walked. She had always spent her days with Farkus and would often go up to the Skyforge to watch the stars. The view from there was amazing. She sighed sadly as Tali asked if she remembered them.

"Oh yes, I remember them" She said after some time and she smiled softly.

She wouldn't admit to wanting to often go back. Her place was with the dark brotherhood now and she was too loyal to her sister to turn away from the organization now.

"Hows your leg?" Silver asked wanting to change the subject as the thought of Farkus hurt.

Tali hadn't been paying much attention to her leg ever since they left the outskirts of Falkreath. The pain had seized but maybe that was just because the nip of the north had numbed it to the point that it wasn't noticeable. She moved her hand to her leg and felt it, instantly cringing at the pain. It wasn't as bad as before but this wound surely wouldn't go away for a few days, nor would the pain of it all.

"It's nothing I can't deal with", Tali cuffed her hand around her eyes as she began to see the ocean. The scent of fire and brimstone caught itself on her sensitive nose, they were definitely close by now. It was most likely just over the next ridge. ,"I have a question pertaining to this guild. How many members do you guys have left?"

"You included, four" Silver said grimly as she tightened her grip on Shadowmere's reins.

The thought of Astrid's dead burning body came back to her and she felt her hand shake. Her dear sweet sister, taken from her just like that. Silver had always been there for her, but in the end.. She couldn't save her. She felt her vision blurring as she began to fight back tears that were threatening to fall. How was she going to rebuild the Dark Brotherhood and continue Astrid's legacy? She felt her heart ache and her hands were noticeably shaking now. Maybe it was the realization that she'd given everything to be with her sister and now that she was gone.. She had nobody.

Calm yourself Silver.. Your the leader of the Dark Brotherhood.. You must be strong.. For Astrids sake

"It's not much further now. Tell me, what do you know of the Dark Brotherhood?" Silver asked curiously.
