Warrior Cats Roleplay with Zoketi [Private]

[Oh. Well, I just didn't want to accidentally spoil anything for you, but did you notice that PLENTY of cats have broken the Warrior Code by having either: A forbidden relationship, OR a medicine cat having a mate? Well, did you notice Mapleshade was the only one who had a forbidden relationship who was exiled?]

"Lilypaw, come here," Lilypaw heard her mentor call. She jerked a little, then straightened. "Okay," she mewed, padding over to sit next to Bluestrike. She vaguely recognized a few of the herbs, like the yarrow, thyme, sweet-sedge, and a few other of the plants. The strong smell hit her nose and she liked it. She had always enjoyed the scent of different herbs, whether sharp, strong, or sweet. They always reminded her of the first time she asked for Bluestrike, as a kit, to educate her about the different plants.

[ Psh yeah. Yep. Bugged the crap outta me. >.> ]

He watched her approach, then shoved out the comfrey towards her. "This is comfrey. Any clue to what it does?" he mewed, swishing his tail around his haunches and fixing his yellow stare upon her face, gazing intently. He turned away briefly to tug a few other herbs he hadn't yet taught her out of their spots and spread them neatly out on the ground between the two medicine cats. He was a little concerned about the levels of some of their herbs, since they hadn't been out collecting much due to the rains. It would need to be done sometime soon.

[Ikr! It's like... No.. Just... No. Mapleshade is awesome. <33]

"Comfrey... Um.." Lilypaw pondered for a minute. "Does it... Help heal an infected wound?" She didn't think she'd ever been taught about comfrey. Perhaps once when she was younger. She swallowed inaudibly as she watched her mentor pull out a few unfamiliar herbs. She hadn't yet been educated about those ones. Perhaps she'd been taught the names, but she doubted even that. She hoped she'd be able to learn and remember them.

He straightened, blinking at her, then held up the comfrey roots. "Soothes wounds, yes. Inflammation of joints, wrenched claws, broken bones. Itching." he listed off, lowering his paw and draping the roots back over the ground. "The roots are chewed into a poultice before application." he added. He nudged it towards her. "Get the scent in your head, remember it." he added, before tugging over a clump of green stems. "Snakeroot." he stated, nodding at the next herb. Little white flowers dotted the stalks. "Applied to wounds, a good remedy for poisons such as snake bite." If that wasn't obvious enough.

[I used to love Leafpool, but I realize: She's an idiot, sorry. She made terrible decisions in her life and that led to her misery, her kits' misery, Squirrelflight's misery, Brambleclaw's misery, etc! Why the heck wasn't SHE exiled?!]

Lilypaw sniffed the herb and sort of set it in a little collection in her mind. "Snakeroot, good for snake bites," she recited. The bunch of green stems looked like thick grass. "What types of snakes live in WindClan territory?" she queried. She hoped the question wasn't too "off-topic"; it did have to do with her herb training. She needed to know what types of snakes to look out for. She knew a majority of snakes around all Clan territories were venomous and dangerous.

[ Yeah, me too. She...was stupid. Like, seriously. The stupid lie. -rages- A whole ton of pain caused that could have been partly avoided, at least. Ugh.
And snakes...uh...just a few are ones I'm listing and who knows how accurate that'll be lol ]

He brusehd the snakeroot aside, then tucked it back in its proper crevice. At Lilypaw's next question he tilted his head and stared back at her. "Grass snakes--non venomous. Some adders, which are venomous. Smooth snakes, non venomous. Some vipers, venomous." he murmured after a short while of thinking. It was a good question to ask, really. He flicked his tail and glanced back towards the herb stores, then tossed a clump of watermint towards his apprentice. "Recognize this?"

And that's okay. But hey, imagine rainbow cats with metal claws and sunglasses... I need to draw that...]

"Yes... It's watermint," Lilypaw could recall. "And it's for..." She thought for a moment. "Chest pain?" Again, most likely one she learned in one of her first days of herbal education and couldn't remember it. But she did know adders were dangerous. She had heard stories of kits' lives being taken by those StarClan-forbidden snakes... Back on track, she looked to her mentor to see if she gave her answer correctly or incorrectly.

[ oh yes, definitely ]

He twitched an ear. "Close. Bellyache." he finished, sweeping the herbs away again. He tucked them back into the stone, then glanced towards Lilypaw. Pushing a few long leaves towards her, he mewed, "Willow leaves. Help stop vomiting." he murmured, lifting his eyes and letting her take in the scent of the herbs.

[ getting off for a bit, dinner ]

[Hehe. And sure.]

Lilypaw sniffed the willow leaves a little, inhaling the scent. They smelled a bit strong, but nice too. She flicked one ear back as if swatting a gnat away. Willow leaves were often given to cats that were ill or nauseous to prevent or stop vomiting. As opposed to yarrow, which she recalled made a cat vomit in case they ingested something poisonous like a deathberry or foxglove seeds or any other dangerous sort of herb.

He drew the herbs back once she'd finished, and slipped them away into their usual spot as well. Then he scooted a few chickweed leaves towards her. "This is similar in usage to catmint. It's called chickweed. Treats greencough, but not as successful as catmint." he murmured. He flexed his claws against the soft soil, then drew the herbs back and returned them all to their former positions. "That's it for now." Bluestrike muttered, turning away.
