"Why didn't he fly over it?" Ash asked.

Cheng was ready. "I hope you're all ready for this he said," he said. They continued on. At last, they came to a sign. It read "Gloomy Gulch". They entered the area. It was dark, creepy and gloomy. "Here we are," he said. He then looked at Ash. "Because going through it is the only way to reach the pass leading to K. Rool's castle," he replied.

"We're ready!" Dawn said, dancing about a bit.
"Yah," muttered Dusk, "With you around, sure won't be 'Gloomy'." He couldn't help but smile at his sister.

Cheng chuckled at the joke. "Sounds like you're ready. Now, let's go. Stay close to me because of the poor light," he said.

[Nyasi]

Dawn and Dusk nodded, Dawn trotting along next to Cheng, Dusk walking at her shoulder.

The walk into Gloomy Gulch began. It was a truly creepy sight. Cheng felt his pulse quickening as he moved along.

[Nyasi]

Dawn shrank toward Dusk's strong shoulder, who constantly flinched and glanced over into the shadows.

Although Cheng was not one who scared easily, it was still unnerving. There were all sorts of sounds coming from the dark woods and the winds were strong and blowing all sorts of plant debris around.

[Nyasi]

"This place must've crawled straight out of the uncanny valley," muttered Dawn, looking over her shoulder. "How much longer till we get out of this place?"

"Hopefully, soon. I don't scare easily, but I don't like it here. I mean, not even the tombs in the Valley of the Masters back home were this creepy," Cheng replied. He looked around. Nothing but gloom for a long while still.
