The buck sighed, "This Karus was not shown any mercy. His son told me your father said he would be shown no mercy as well. Why would I be given an exception?"

Nello said, "Because you're not the cruel sick-brained buck that he is."

The buck laughed and smiled, "Thank you but how can you know that?" Marena said, "We see it in your eyes."

Nello again found the way his sister was talking wierd, "What she said."

The buck just nodded. Marena said, "We know you had a hard life and everything. Harder than us."

Nello nodded, "Yeah... this is the least we can do."

Marena then looked at the buck, "And I'll do more if I have to."

Nello again raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. "He has to be around here somewhere..."

Marena nodded at what Nello said. The buck kept pondering what Marena said. She said she would do more and not Nello! Something was amiss.
