Kodi meanwhile was still in pain because of his leg. The vet looked down on the locked-up dog and said, "Hurts doesn't it? Next time don't you go jumping out of any windows." Dusty was still shaking.

The wolf wondered what her partner was up to...however she quickly got back to the present. She cursed as there was not anything for her to hide under.

After a few moments the vet was gone by putting some special bandage around Dusty's neck, "Don't scratch at it okay?" he went ahead and put Dusty in a bit larger cell than Kodi's, before heading back to the maroon-colored husky, "All-right, let's see wht demage you've caused." he took Kodi out of the cell to check on his leg again.

With nothing else the wolf quickly thought of one last line of defense between her and death.

After a few moments the vet sighed, "You lucky dog." he went ahead and placed Kodi back in his cell before looking at his watch, "Wow it's late." The vet walked outside of the room and locked the door before heading into his bedroom and shutting the door in there as well.

The wolf did the only thing she could think of. She acted as a wounded wolf and tried to get the vet's sympathies by acting more like a dog than a wolf.

The vet heard the sounds Annabeth was making and thought that it was one of the two dogs. He got up with a groan, "They don't pay me enough to do this..." he put on his slippers and his lab coat before opening the door. When he saw Annabeth, he jumped in surprise and searched for his gun, before realising that he had left it downstairs. Cursing at his bad luck, the frightened human tried to not make any sudden moves and kneeled so that the wolf wouldn't see him as a larger being. "Take it easy..." he hoped the wolf was not in a bad mood. The vet suddenly noticed the wolf's wierd behaviour and thought that it was hurt. Hesitating, the human advanced slowly and then gently patted the female wolf on her head. He was fascinated when the wolf made no violent respond. "Hmm... This is interesting..." he continued patting her on her head gently, "I guess this explains why the little guy jumped out of the window." the wolf's strange behaviour made him really curious, and he suddenly didn't seem to be scared of the wolf anymore. He walked over to the corner of his room, picked up a basin filled with water, and then slowly placed it down in-front of Annabeth to see how she would react.

The wolf was confused by the human's behavior but nevertheless tried to appease it by drinking the water. 'Buddy next time you need to check the water you are giving to an animal for that was nasty.' To make it look real she tried to make it look like she was licking him for his kindness but fell down as in pain.

The vet quickly picked the wolf up and carried her downstairs. He entered his work room and put Annabeth down on one of the beds, "This is fascinating. I've never seen a wolf act like that towards a human before." he went over to his fridge and took a small slive of meat and some milk. He put the milk in a small bowl and then headed back to the wolf, "You wolves and dogs are so much alike." he said as he put the meat and the milk next to the wolf, "Such fascinating animals you both are."

Annabeth looked at disgust at the milk. 'Am I a pup?' However seeing that there was free food she went ahead and ate that meat. She wondered where the two dogs were at. She started to whine again so that the human would bring her there to them.
