The grandfather shook his head and left, "I'm staying out of this one." his grandmother frowned at him "That stuff will get you ill or even worse!"

The fawn just yelled. "Ah yes that is really being a buck grandfather! You are acting like a doe!" He looked at his grandmother. "But it is cool. Besides I don't get ill."

His grandmother then decided that she had had enough, "Do what you want. Don't come complaining to me afterwards." she then left her grandson on his own with a heavy sigh. Ever since his parents died he had only gotten worse, and she was getting too old to deal with it.

The fawn just sighed and slept by himself. He had no father figure really. No one could teach him how to be a real buck. He looked over at his grandparents but decided not to lay by them.

The grandmother, like always, seemed really bothered as she lay down next to her mate. This time however he didn't ask her anything about it and they both went right to sleep.

The fawn waited a while and, for some reason which was strange to him, went up and laid down by his grandparents. He fell to sleep almost immediately. Soon it was morning and the fawn woke up. "Good morning."

Both of the fawn's grandparents were surprised to find out that their grandson had slept right next to them. His grandmother was the most confused, "Good morning." maybe all the bad stuff he ate yesterday got to his head?

The fawn tried to smile to both of them. "Uh I apologize about what I said yesterday." He then looked at his grandfather. "Can you teach me how to defend myself? I mean can you teach me how to do that?"

His grandmother just sighed at the usual apology which came every morning. The grandfather said, "You use your antlers. There's really nothing to it."

The fawn looked at his head. "But I don't have any antlers. How am I supposed to defend myself when I don't have any?"
