Almost immediately after stopping, the musher began to examine the dogs to make sure they were all right. Soon, it would be time to eat.

Melony stood still as the musher examined her. She didn't feel like there was anything wrong with her, and as she expected the musher found nothing bad.

The dogs were taken to where they would be sleeping, an area outside their musher's tent. Hammy laid down on the snow, enjoying the opportunity to rest.

Lilly was not that tired, but she was out of breath, not only was she fast, but she had stamina. She raised her paws for the Musher to look at the pads and smiled, nuzzling his hand for she liked humans alot. But he had seen some little cuts on her face she had received from Silver when he stood on her muzzle, he frowned but knew it wasn't effecting her. After that, she laid down next to Hammy, smiling as she nuzzled him happily.

Hammy looked at Lilly. "Are you all right?" he asked.

Melony also lay down as did everybody else. "I think we did good." she said, smiling as she saw Lilly and Hammy but saying nothing in that regard.

Lilly thought she'd answer Hammy truthfully, she whispered in his ear, "Well...it's just...Silver...he's playing on my mind a bit...he said he'd get me in the end...".

Hammy's eyes narrowed. "I am yours and you are mine. I will protect you from anything," he said, gently licking her face.

Lilly smiled, "I love you". She returned the lick as their Musher came out with bowls of raw caribu meat and placed the down on the snow, smiling at his talented team of sled dogs. He left them to eat

Hammy began to eat. As he did so, he looked at his other team members. They all seemed happy and content.
