Love at First Sight: Melody & Derek (kitkat39 & NKL!)

I thought about what Morgana was saying, then I said quietly, "He wouldn't forget about me.....he loves me. He,.......oh no, he must've thought of Morgan, but maybe....maybe he thought about me at the last possible moment." I closed my eyes, fighting back the tears, then I asked Morgana, "Is there a way to break the spell?" I hoped there is, because I don't know what I would do without him in my life.

[Queen Elsa]

"Look, I bring about spells. I don't always have solutions to them," Morgana replied. "That is something you will have to figure out on your own, I'm afraid. And, unlike all of the other spells, this one doesn't have a specific time. If you can't figure out how to break it, I suppose it could last forever."

I took a deep breath, then I had a feeling what I have to do. Then I nodded to Morgana and then I swam out of the lair and tried to find him. Then I saw him, and then I swam up to him, calling out, "Derek!" And then I kissed him, hoping it would work.

Well, that is the cure. But I'm not letting it wear off that fast. Sorry.

I turned around and was quickly caught off guard by her kiss, which seemed somewhat familiar in a strange way. I pushed her away from me. "What are you doing, you crazy person? How do you even know me?" I asked.

"You have to remember, Derek, the first time we met was when I was with a penguin and a walrus. And the second time was after I took the wall away from around the castle, so that humans and merpeople would be together. I had a yellow dress on, and my hair was up in a ponytail." I put my hair up in a ponytail, hoping it might trigger something. "And then last night...you came to the castle and I showed you my prized seashells." Tears were building in my eyes, feeling lonely inside. "Please Derek, you have to remember!" Then, an idea came to me, then I got my necklace out and opened it, hearing the song that it played. "And I showed you this, and I told you about how when I was just a baby, my Grandfather, King Triton, gave this to me so that I would never forget that part my heart will always belong to the sea." The tears fell down my cheeks, and I felt like I would collapse if he didn't remember.

I looked at her with wide eyes. This girl was crazy! "I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Now, I need to get back to Atlantica and to Mofgan. Then maybe things will start to go back to normal." I began to swim away.

I shook my head, then I went back to the chair-shaped coral and I started singing the song Mom used to sing whenever I was sad.

"Come stop your crying it'll be alright
Just take my hand hold it tight
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here, don't you cry...."

I swam back to the kingdom and ran into Morgan. "Hey! There's the girl I wanted to see!" I said, and then proceeded to kiss her. "

"I thought you were mad at me?" Morgan asked.

"What would I be mad about?" I asked.

"About ruining your life with Melody," she replied.

"Not you, too!" I groaned. "Seriously, who's this Melody girl?"

"You..don't remember?" She asked, and I shook my head. "Well, don't worry about her. All that matters now is you and me together, right?"

"Right," I answered, kissing her forehead.

"So, you don't mind your mother arranging our marriage?" Morgan asked.

"Of course not! I couldn't imagine anything better than to be married to the one girl that I love." I kissed her again, wrapping my arms around her waist, and her arms wrapping around my neck.

you know, this sucks!

I looked up to see that Derek was gone, then I swam home, not stopping until I got to my room. Then, I walked out to the balcony and saw all of my seashells, including the one that I showed Derek. Then I took it in my hand, looked at it for a few seconds, then with all the pain and anger I felt, threw it into the ocean. "Derek! If you can hear me, I don't ever want to see you again!" I yelled at the ocean then I ran back into my room and threw myself onto my bed, crying into the pillow.

I heard someone shouting something, but I didn't pay much attention to it. "Do you happpen to know when the marriage is to be?" I asked Morgan.

"In about three days," Morgan replied. "Although I'd love it if it was an official proposal."

"Oh, right," I said. "Give me a few minutes, and I'll be back to propose to you." I kissed her on the cheek, then left. I swam near the shore and grabbed a seashell that also seemed strangely familiar. I broke a piece off of it, making it perfectly circled. I then grabbed a thin piece of seaweed and tied it around the seashell. I returned to Morgan and drifted a foot below her and said, "Morgan, we've knosn each other for so long.. and I love you. Will you marry me?"

"Of course!" she replied. I slipped the makeshift ring on her finger, and she smiled at it happily. "I love it! I mean, I love you! I mean, I love it all!" She said, and kissed me.
