Tali thought she had been so clever, joining up with Eon to trap Xaron into telling the truth. But now that she lay toppled onto the ground pinned under Eon's body, she couldn't help but think how foolish this idea sounded in hindsight.

''Nice try, children.' He laughed, obviously amused by the antics.

''Damn it, we got so close!''

Tali glared up at him halfheartedly, slightly amused with an irritable tone to her voice, "So close yet so far. Guess we'll have to get training on our hugging tactics. But in the meantime, would you kindly get off of me?!"

''Eesh, I'm on it for crying out loud.'' he said as he got up from Tali.

''How cute, I think you two make an adorable couple.'' teased Xaron.

''Very funny... Not.'' said Eon, rolling his eyes.

''So, what was this all about?'' asked Xaron.

''We got tired of your secrets and riddles, we want some real answers!'' said Eon, slightly pissed.

''Well, isn't that the great irony here, Eon. I was actually about to reveal one of my lesser secrets.'' said Xaron.

"Thank you" Huffed Tali, picking herself up off the ground.

''How cute, I think you two make an adorable couple.''

''Very funny... Not.''

"Think you two make an adorable couple... peh." Scoffed the girl, mimicking him in a childish voice.

''We got tired of your secrets and riddles, we want some real answers!''

''Well, isn't that the great irony here, Eon. I was actually about to reveal one of my lesser secrets.''

She looked questionably at Eon, "So that planning was all for nothing... nice. Anyways, what is this lesser secret of yours because it better be good for everything we've been through recently."

''Well, I suppose you both are dying to know why I want you to go to the Land of Light?'' asked Xaron.

''If only your stupid hidden agenda involved killing Vuldred, I would actually take it into concideration.'' said Eon.

''Actually, it does.'' said Xaron.

''Nice try idiot, but how am I going to kill Vuldred while I'm in the Land of Light?'' asked Eon while he rolled his eyes, thinking he outsmarted Xaron.

''Take a wild guess.'' said Xaron.

''No, I'm done playing guessing games with you. Just spill it out already, will ya?!''

''To ask the High Elves for help of course. Vuldred is preparing his undead legions and is about to start a new war to lay waste to Daryon. The High Elves are skilled when it comes to fighting black magic and necromancy, so their help is required in order to defeat the Shadow Knights.'' said Xaron.

Eon actually hestitated. Could it be true? Was the loremaster, who seemed to enjoy playing mind games with them all the time, actually going to be helpful once?

As Tali listened to Xaron unveil is secrets about the Land of Light and this Vuldred, she felt a heavy weight settle on her shoulders.

''To ask the High Elves for help of course. Vuldred is preparing his undead legions and is about to start a new war to lay waste to Daryon. The High Elves are skilled when it comes to fighting black magic and necromancy, so their help is required in order to defeat the Shadow Knights.''

"Obviously we need to kill Vuldred, that's for certain. And we need to go to this Land of Light to raise our own army with the high elves? I can't believe they would be willing to just give us their best knights and ride off into battle against evil without concrete proof. And where do I fit into this? I was a local hero of sorts in Skyrim but nothing comparable to this."

''Do not worry about proof, I am good friends with king Undriel. I am older and wiser than any elf, so I'm very sure the High Elves will listen. As for you, you may play the role of the female heroine and assist dear Eon with his mission and go on an epic adventure you could only hope to dream of in your own boring world. Now, how does that sound?''

''Yea... Those High Elves are going to be just as 'helpful' as when Sarchsos fell long ago. What did they do? Nothing.'' said Eon with his arms crossed.

''So you have been told.'' said Xaron.

''But why is Vuldred doing all of this? Hasn't that idiot learned from his mistakes in the past yet?'' asked Eon

''Well I can't say for sure but he seems to be serving a greater evil, an unidentified enemy he refers to as the ''Nameless One.'' As hard as it is to believe, Vuldred is merely a puppet himself.''

The girl listened to what Xaron had to say, nodding her head and taking in everything into perspective. So she hadn't just been brought here as some huge prank after all. Tali was meant to serve a higher purpose at Eon's side to destroy some form of greater evil that threatened the lives of everyone within this world. On one side, she felt honored that above all the people he could've chosen, it was her. But another still felt a hint of annoyance, being stolen away from her old life. However, Tali understood she either had to comply and grin and bear with it or face some consequences from this powerful and manipulative Aenar.

"Vuldred, puppet or no puppet, needs to die. I suppose if I have no choice in the matter, I'll do as you say and help Eon defeat this greater evil. Much better than playing the helpless damsel in distress, I'd say." Tali chuckled

''Or to say, much better than harassing those poor chicks out of boredom if only to earn the wrath of the local people in your own world.'' Xaron added.

''By the way, what happened to that crazy rabid wolf girl?'' asked Eon.

''Oh she is cooling down at the moment under detention. Because she has been a bad doggy.'' said Xaron.

''More like a rabid hellhound...'' said Eon.

''Or that.'' Xaron chuckled.

She had almost but forgotten about Xandra, "You mean to say we have to take that thing along with us? I'm more than enough wolf to go around and she's nothing but a loud-mouthed [censored]. Literally." Tali walked up to Xaron, poking him in the chest.

"Or is this just your way of trolling us? You should know as well as I do that she's useless."

''Well, I originally thought she'd make a nice additional 'pet' to the two of you, and she could be quite useful if she wanted to. Be right back though, I'll go check on her.'' said Xaron as he left again and walked to Xandra to see if she cooled down yet.

''Ah, so you two must be the human visitors that belong to master Xaron.'' said an elf as he entered the tree dwelling. The elf was clothed in robes and wore a crown of golden leafs, indicating he has a royal background.

''Yes, and who the hell may you be?''

''Almond the Wise, King of Gorlia and Wood Elves.'' the elf said.
