Love at First Sight: Melody & Derek (kitkat39 & NKL!)

I looked down, seeing Derek, and my heart was lighter with the sight of him. "Derek!" I called then I jumped off the rock close to where he was at. When I got back to the surface, I asked him, "So....How did it go with you and Morgan?"

I smiled at her happiness of seeing me and immediately jumping into the water. "Pretty good. I apologized, and she did, too, and we worked it out to the point where we can still be friends." I frowned. "Although, if she acted like that...what would our parents' reactions be like?"

I frowned a little, then said, "I'm not sure, but my Mom did say that she want what's best for me and to find my 'one true love' and all that stuff. So.... I don't know what will happen." I shrugged a little, then reached out and held his hand, feeling his strength. I smiled at him, thinking how great it would be to stay with him forever.

I smiled at Melody, and a warm feeling coursed through my body when she grabbed my hand. I pulled her close and said, "I guess it doesn't matter what our parents think, then, so long as we're happy." I began kissing her, swimming over underneath the rock, in the shadow so no one could see them.

(LOL. I don't know why I'm having him kiss her so much. If you want me to stop it, I can.)

I wrapped my arms around Derek's neck as we kissed, feeling content at being with him like this. I felt like I could swim for hours without being tired just from this kiss and the others.

(No it's okay, NKL! It's actually great! )

I opened my eyes briefly to see the sun was now setting. I tried ignoring it, but I knew that if I didn't get back soon, my parents would be worried, and then I would be in trouble. I broke from the kiss and sighed. "I better get going," I told her. "I'll see you later." I gave her a quick kiss good-bye, and then swam away.

(Also, I had this idea where, for some reason that I haven't thought of yet, Derek finds Morgana and makes some deal wit her. He doesn't complete the deal, and so Morgana comes, which could lead to what happens in Melody's dreams, where she's taken and Derek has that look that no matter what, he'll find her, mainly because that was his fault. What do you think?

I watched Derek swim away from me, and I said quietly, "Goodbye...." then I swam back toward the castle. When I walked up the shoreline, my fins turned into legs again and as I ran the water from my hair I heard a voice saying, "Well, you seemed to have a fun time, huh?" I jumped, then turned and saw Mom leaning on the wall of the castle. She smiled at me, then walked up to me, brushing my hair with her fingers. "You know, your hair is pretty down." I blushed a little, saying, "Thanks Mom," I really wanted to tell her about me and Derek, but I don't know how she'll react.

I returned to the kingdom and swam into my room, where my mother was waiting. "Oh, right on time!" She said. "How was the barnacle-cleaning?" She asked.

"All right. Nothing exciting," I answered, making sure to hide any signs of what really happened today.

"That's good," she answered. "By the way, Morgan just came, saying she wanted to talk to you about something." My eyes widened in surprise and confusion. What did she need to talk to me about now?

"Okay," I said. "Let her know she can come up." She nodded and swam out. A minute later, Morgan came up. "Hey," I greeted. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Us," Morgan answered simply.

"I thought we already talked about it?" I asked, sitting down on the rock.

"I know. But, I just wanted to do something first," she said.

"Do what?" I asked.

"This," she answered. Before I could do anything, she swam up to me, and kissed me, her hair covering around my face. I heard a squeal of excitement, and broke from the kiss to see my mom standing at the doorway.

"I always knew you two were perfect for each other!" she said. "I'll go announce it to everyone."

"Wait, what?" I asked. I swam after my mom, leaving Morgan in my room. "Mom, I think there's a mistake."

"Oh, please, Derek. There's no mistake," she said.

"But Mom, I don't love Morgan," I tried telling her.

"Oh, nonsense," she said. "It's quite obvious you two are deeply in love."

"Mom! Stop!" I shouted, but she began swimming faster. From no sleep last night, and then a long day today, I was out of energy, and I couldn't follow her. This was really, really bad.

(I hope you don't mind this. But I thought what originally happened between Derek and Morgan went too fast, so I added some conflict into it. I might make this the reason why Derek goes to find Morgana.)

Wow, I got to say, this is actually both really cool and really crazy!

I watched how the sunlight made the water seem to sparkle while my mom was sitting beside me on the sand. "Hey, Mom.... I have something to tell you," She looked at me then asked, "What is it, Melody?" I blushed a little then took a deep breath and said, "Well.... the thing is....I met someone!" I waited a little bit, wondering how she would react, but what she did surprised me. "Well, it's about time you did." I looked at her, confused at how she said that. 'Where is the screaming?' I thought to myself.

(LOL. I do that a lot. Especially if I think the story's going pretty slow. )

I swam back up to my room and pushed Morgan against the wall. "What was that for?" I asked.

"I was trying to show you that you and that girl of yours can never be together. She's a human, and you're a merman," she said.

"But her grandfather gave her the ability to become a mermaid whenever she wanted," I replied. "So why ruin my happy ending? I thought you were my friend. I thought you understood!"

"Well, you thought wrong. Derek, I love you."

"But I don't love you!"

"Oh, yeah? Well you might have to now, because the whole kingdom will know about it."

"Because of you!"

"You could have just as easily pushed me away, but you didn't. And we both know why. You may love Melody. You may even say you do. But none of that destroys the fact that you kissed me." She gasped with a thought. "What will your girlfriend think when she finds out about it? She'll probably leave you faster than you could say 'sorry'." I swam a few feet away from her, shocked and hurt.

"She'll never know," I said.

"Won't she? Because I know she'll have to hear about the wedding announcement. And when she finds out who's the bride and groom, she'll leave you. And don't say she won't, because I know it." I couldn't stand to hear anymore. I swam out of my room and away from the kingdom as fast as I could, despite my exhaustion. I had to get far away from Atlantica and from Melody if I didn't want to hurt either of them.

Okay. Well, that's what I get for watching OUAT clips just before starting this reply. So intense!
