Giovanni frowns thoughtfully and nudges Hatari.

'I know you hate them - and her. But, please, don't start a war, ok?' He thinks. Hatari snorts and digs his long claws into the sand angrily.

Matias sniffed around the floor, suddenly plunging down and pulling up a small bone. He brought it to River, whose face became ashen.

'What is it?' Xavier asked, fear creeping into his voice.

'A bone. Not sure what type.' She handed it to him.

Hatari scoffs quietly and rolls his eyes.

'Well, do you know what is it, then?'

River glares at him.

'Human. And it has bite marks, so something out here killed it. NOT the demon,' she added, sensing his skeptical look.

'We need to move,' decided Xavier. 'To the forest?' He asked, pointing further in front of them.

Giovanni, shoving Hatari again, nods. Lana stands still, Ryder watching her, they all resume walking, but Hatari glares at Giovanni and River, the tension rising.

River flicked her hair over one shoulder. It had fallen from the tie at some point- she wasn't sure when- but it irritated her. She grabbed another, and carefully re-fastened her long brown hair back into a bun. She pointedly ignored Hatari, which seemed to irritate him. Good, she thought sourly.

'Just you wait, human.' he returned, grinning.

His words glanced off her; her face may have been human, and perhaps her emotions, but that was it. Xavier heard him, and shot him a glare.

Hatari returns the glare and Giovanni, by now looking thoroughly annoyed and fed up, sighs and grumbles something under his breath. they soon reach the outside of another city.

"well, what do we do now..." Lana asks, eyes brightening.
