Wolf RP- VM and Dark Huntress

Dan suddenly sighed as he didn't know how to kill prey...as a wolf. He slowly walked over to the pup again and sighed, "Okay look I'm sorry about talking about your mom that way. Listen though stop mentioning that please. I mean the human who killed her, I mean he thought the wolf was going to kill him, and uh he needed to practice hunting an animal." Wait a minute? Why was he trying to explain his actions to a little wolf pup like her?

He then sighed and said, "Alright, I'll try to be more pleasant and nicer to you kid. I uh...don't know how to survive on my own out here and by the looks of it neither do you. I don't think we both need to starve so why don't I take down something for us both to eat." Maybe that will shut her up and make her tell me where I need to go to get out of this mess. Not that a stupid wolf like her would know what the hell is going on, he thought.

"He shot her first," Tala whispered quietly, then looked back up at him, wide amber eyes boring into him. "I know my way around and I know what to do in order to survive. I just lack the strength and size of the mighty hunter I shall grow to be." She did not bother to attempt to another her pride in being a wolf. That was what ha bothered her so much about the hunter. He'd killed her mother with trickery. A child, a cub like herself, had murdered a mighty huntress, matron of the woods, with underhand trickery.

She shook her voluminous fur, sending it bouncing in waves of thundercloud grey, then sat up. She extended her left back leg and tilted her small, triangular head as she scratched her small fuzzy ear with a white-socked paw. She shook herself again and looked back at Dan. "I can show you what I need you to do, what you need to do to survive, if you will listen to me." She wiped a white paw across the ground. "I know I'm young and small, a runt, but surviving is all I know-all I've known and I can help you, if you will let me!" She said the last part through clenched teeth.

Dan again sighed and said, "Alright fine. Show me what to do in order to survive." He looked around and noticed night was starting to approach and that it was getting dark outside. He quietly said, "We better go find some better shelter than this nest." He looked around and found a fresh hole in the ground which was wide enough for the pup and just barely big enough for him as he managed to just squeeze his head inside as the den was big enough only for her. He then sarcastically said, "Looks like you'll get to sleep tonight your Majesty," he said sarcastically to her. He suddenly sighed however and said, "Alright it's getting dark so I guess you better stay here princess," he said in sarcasm, "you know considering the coyotes or an eagle might snatch you up," trying to scare her out of pure cruelty. "I guess I better catch the food."

He paused before saying, "Uh I'm sorry you're on your own out here." Wait a minute why did he say that? He shook his head and yelled out, "Anyway!" trying to clear his head, "I guess I just try and bite and scratch at a deer or rabbit or something?" He shook his head as he kept yabbering on.

Tala shook he head. He was clueless! "If you hunt-stay downwind, if you don't what direction that is-the wind should be blowing against you-that way they can't hear you as much or smell you. Also, stay low and freeze-even if you don't know whether or not they saw or smelled you. Go for the neck-it's a cleaner kill and hunt the ones that are lagging behind-especially ones with limps-they are much less likely to kick."

She sat for a moment, wondering what else he may know. "And avoid water," she said slowly,"something tells me you can't really swim very well." She was silent for another moment before looking him straight in the eye. "Yes. An eagle would love to eat me-but I would scare a coyote off." She smiled and shrugged,"They're easily spooked. If there is a whole pack-stare down the leader, you'll know who he is. If you see a moose, which is rare, leave it alone-you need a pack. Also, if a cougar wants some of your kill, don't mess with it-they won't eat too much."

Dan barely listened to her and faked enthusiasm with what she was saying. Dan just sighed and rolled his eyes, "Again wolves so predictable. Maybe that is why humans have built cities." He then sighed and said, "Fine I'll go ahead and hunt." Dan went into the woods and slowly started walking around before he started to sniff something. Hmm that's an odd sensation, he thought. He slowly followed the scent and made sure his head was down low to the ground. Not long after he saw a bull elk eating. Perfect he thought. He charged at the elk as quickly as he could and bit down hard on the elk and used his claws to scratch it. Unfortunately the elk kicked him in the head and made him lose his grip. He came back to the wolf pup with a bad bump on his head and a little angry. "Well I did exactly what you said and what did I get? A bad bump on my head and a horrible headache!"

"Wasn't weak," she stated matter-of-factly,stretched, then yawned. "Nice hat." She grinned and gestured to his bump. She sat up and turned serious. "Remember: hunting is 10% action and 90% patience. You have to know where you're going to strike before you strike. Snap fast. Bite hard. Scratch like revenge," she gave him an uncertain look,"you know how to be a wolf right? You seem like you...don't."

She stared at him for a moment before shrugging. "Do you want me to show you?" she asked, a little uncertain. "I may be able to kill something...maybe."

"No, No I can do it! I can hunt and catch an animal." He quickly left the den and looked outside as he noticed that his eyes were able to see just as clearly during the night as in the day. Wow that's strange, he thought. He then saw a rabbit jump out from the bushes. He charged as fast as he could although the rabbit was much faster and more agile. He tripped and accidently opened his mouth killing the animal. He brought back the rabbit with pride. "Not bad considering I tripped and was never taught how to take down an animal huh?"

Before the wolf pup could say anything however a wolf pack suddenly surrounded Dan and said, "Hey you there what are you doing in our territory?!"

Tala frowned at the rather small group of adolescent wolves. "Guys, come on!" She gave them a deceptively stern face,"We've every right to be here and you know it!" She stared at the pack leader, yellow eyes burning into his ice-blue ones. The contest ended as a draw however and Tala squirmed out of her nest.

"Who's the newbie?" Rashki, a large wolf with a ribbed tan and brown pattern on his long fur, asked pushing his snout toward's Dan's face. "Rashki, Dan," she introduced her new companion to her somewhat 'friends',"Dan, meet Rashki, Ulf, Hawsupe, and Shawewe." She nodded as if to assure them they would get along, hopefully.

They'd eat him alive if it weren't for me, she thought to herself, rather smugly. "Chill out," she whispered to Dan,"they won't eat you-not when I'm here."

"What kind of name is Dan?" Shawewe asked, seemingly puzzled. Tala shrugged, "Beats me-maybe he's from the south."

"You're traveling with this dork?" Hawsupe snickered. Ulf circled Dan sniffing him untrustingly. "He smells weird." Tala shrugged again,"I've only known him for an hour-he's been following me around."

"He's not bothering you is he?" Ulf's back muscles roiled under his shaggy chocolate fur as he popped his thick neck threateningly and grinned savagely at Dan. Tala looked at Dan, obviously debating something. She glanced down at the rabbit by Dan's paws. "Nah," she answered,"no more than I can handle." She shot Dan a small smirk.

Dan immediately gave a low growl, "Hey morons, if this was under different circumstances and I was the real me you would flee at the sight of me." He obviously didn't like a bunch of adolescent wolves mocking and making fun of him. He then said, "Oh by the way a human hunter would eat you all for breakfast and you would scream like a wretch. I would know."

He then sighed and said, "Alright I'll admit this wolf pup has been kinder to me than I deserve. She's a good kid." He looked at them all and said, "Hey listen this wolf pup lost her mother or something," he said with a laugh thinking the others would find it funny.

His father was distraught and frustrated. The loss of his son had pushed him over the edge of reason and into the pursuit of brutal revenge. He replayed the terrible memory in his head over and over until his rage took control. He was frustrated that he had missed his chance to take down his son's killer.

"I'll get you...I'll get you..."

He dragged himself forward and begun to examine the pawprints of his prey...the hunt had begun.

Ulf ran a burning brown gaze over the strange wolf. "Have you ever lost anything?" he asked, voice cracking a little. Tala stood. "Really, guys-I'm fine. This is how things go...now." She looked at Dan. "Calm down, it's not like you're going to die if you are insulted! Good grief!" She glanced at Ulf and the others, "You shouldn't be so mean."

Hawsupe gave her an innocent look. "We were just curious-we've never heard a name like that before." He turned to Dan,"Where are you from?" Tala shook her head. "Dork?" She asked him. He gave her a small, undiscernable shrug.
