Shani is the King of his pride. His name means Crimson, for obvious reasons. His colour is not normal in his pride, and only he, one of his children, and his greath grandfather are known to currently have any red tint to their fur.

When he was a cub, he was very playful and enjoyed spending most of his time with his best friends, 2 lionesses called Fujo and Fahari. But, when they were adolescents, tragically Fujo was killed by newly banished Outlanders, as was Shani's father. He was forced to become King earlier than expected, and he took Fahari as his Queen. He grew up very quickly, and in time his sons Ghubari and Hala were born, soon followed by his daughter Fujo, named after his lost friend.

Now Shani spends most of his time training the young Ghubari to be the future King, but with the Outlanders never far away he is sure to never let any of his children too far from his sight.
