Nala, mate of Simba and mother of Kiara, plays a major role in The Lion King, but not as big of a role in Simba's Pride to many fan's disappointment. As a cub she was voiced by Niketa Calame and as an adult she was voiced by Moira Kelly. Laura Williams and Sally Dworsky provided her singing voice as a cub and adult respectively. Nala's main animators were Bob Bryan and Gilda Palinginis and her supervising animators were Aaron Blaise (cub) and Anthony de Rosa (adult). In Simba's Pride, Nala has visibly aged; her frame is heavier and larger. She is still young, she and Simba being a whole generation younger than the villain Zira. Her character is also different after becoming Queen — she is calm, mild-mannered, and motherly, in contrast to the fierce, brave young Nala of the first film. Once again, Nala is voiced by Moira Kelly.
