Her light yellow paws padded against the cold, icy ground, her chest heaving as she breathed, clouds forming at her nose where warm oxygen met cold air. Cyan eyes glowed against her dark fur, the soft light from the moon bouncing off white bangs. Her red fur seemed to glow in the darkness. A single tear slid down the lioness's face as she thought about her past.
Her blonde sister, a stuck-up who never shared. She always put a knife through Reese's back, like there weren't enough. Even when Reese started to trust her older sister, it was all a trap.
Her black-as-night mother, a feisty lady- all she wanted was her first born's happiness. It was pathetic, not paying attention to Reese because of some stupid white tuft of fur on her tail.
Her violent and grouchy father, who obviously had better things to do than to pay attention to Reese. He was a good king for his pride, yes, but was he a good father to Reese? No. He was never there. He probably didn't even know she was his daughter.
Alec. Her twin brother and only childhood friend. He was always there for her. Why was she disowned, exiled...? She was forced to leave her precious brother.
Reese had her own insecurities. She always focused on what she looked like, thanks to her sister. She forced herself to be proper, just like her mother. She made sure to pay attention to all her cubs' needs, thank you dad. And Alec...he taught her to be a shoulder to lean on, no matter if someone else's tears got all over you. You shouldn't care about that.
Reese had her downs; but her memories had lessons that helped her back up again.
