Lela is the daughter of Vitani and Kuchoma, and the younger sister of Nuka. When she was a cub, she lacked the care of her mother, since she believed that Lela was just a excuse for her father to leave. She was a tomboy, much like her mother, but she was also quiet and shy.

When she was little, she met some rogue lions, and asked them why they couldn't live with her. They replied saying that they were exiled, possibly from Kopa's death. They provided her the care that her parents did not give her, but also fed her lies about her family's pride.

When she was a adult, she tried to kill her mother and brother, and ended up in exile. She joined the pride of rogues that fed her lies, and she became like them, harsh, cruel, and tempered.
