I did this for the Rafiki contest on TLKFAA forever ago. here's the brief snippet to go with it:

Ever since that ancient baboon had visited the troop in Grass Walls, Rafiki had been thinking about him and all that knowledge. Last night he had finally brought this up with Khalfani and asked to leave on a quest to learn all he could about Africa. His wise leader had agreed, and so he said his good-byes to his cousin Karibu and best friend Bahati this morning. But Rafiki had no idea that before his journey's end he too would be seen as a wise, ancient baboon.

Awesome! You don't see much of Rafiki as a young baboon like this very often. This must be...what...50 years before Simba? LOL

lol, I venturing he's about the age of Mohatu. guessing that Mohatu lived 15 years, Ahadi 12, Mufasa 8.....35 years older than Simba XD that's just how goes for my fanfic. but by the end of TLK2, Rafiki would be 42.

yeah, Rafiki was young so long ago that sometimes we forget to draw him young. but I don't think I do him justice...I suck at primates.

Wow! You don't see photos of young Rafiki much. It really gives you an idea how he used to be like. Great work here, Simba! Can't wait to see more! ^^
