In my TLK fan comic, The Lion King III: Inheritance, Fura is the only surviving daughter of Shenzi. After the bitter battle at Pride Rock, the hyenas refused to submissively return to the Elephant Graveyard, and the brief skirmishes between lions and hyenas in the ensuing weeks were devastating to both sides. Eventually, little Fura looked on as her mother was pulled down by lions - which ultimately signified an end to the war. The hyena clan moved back to the graveyard, where Fura grew up, nursing her hatred towards Simba and lions in general.

Eventually, the hyenas grew bold enough to start venturing into Pridelands territory again, and it was on one of these forays that Fura discovered little Kopa, Simba and Nala's firstborn. She ruthlessly dispatched the cub in one swift stroke, and brought down the lions' wrath upon the Elephant Graveyard clan. Simba drove the hyenas out of their ancestral home, leaving the remainder of the clan to take a dangerous trek across the mountains to escape their pursuit.

There, Fura grows old and bitter as she waits to take her revenge on the Pridelanders. She's currently raising three children, two of which she has high hopes for: her daughters, Siha and Ua.

Fura's name means 'rage' in Swahili.
