Thanda is an interesting lioness. She has Pridelander colours and her most striking feature are her blue eyes. She's very adventurous and daring. However, she is a selective mute, only talking to those she trusts. One of her various adventures leads to her meeting the son of the Leopard King, Prince Weusi. The pair form a friendship that would last a lifetime and beyond. The pair knew not of the war between their species, so they would often play together. As fate would have it, the leopard and the lioness drifted apart from one another as they grew older.
Thanda was an avid follower of Zira and Scar, and after the death of Kopa, she followed Zira and her pride willingly into the Outlands. She is still just as adventurous and daring and still a selective mute. The selective muteness lead to her becoming the lowest ranking lioness in the Outlands Pride. Even though she was the best hunter, she was the last to eat at a kill, receiving what the others had left. As a result of this, her growth had stunted and her health had suffered. It was then she turned to poaching prey in the Pridelands, purely to survive.
Whilst hunting one night, she ran into Weusi. They rekindled their friendship that night. He would help her hunt and stand guard as she ate, defending her meal against scavengers and keeping a look out for patrolling Pridelanders. As the weeks passed, their friendship became something more. It wasn't long before Thanda gave birth to two tiny cubs, both female. The younger of the two cubs died shortly after birth, but the first cub was strong and healthy. Zira didn't think anything of the extra spotting on the cub until she started to grow.
As soon as Zira suspected that the father of Imvula was a leopard, she went after Thanda and her cub. Thanda put up a good fight. And she escaped to the Pridelands with the infant Imvula dangling from her jaws. Her cub would live, but Thanda wouldn't. Zira had followed her. Another fight began. When all looked bleak, a flash of black struck Zira on her side, leaving a chunk missing from her ear. It was Weusi. The battle was long and tiresome and Zira was strong, but the Leopard was stronger. Zira fled, leaving a dying Thanda and a badly injured Weusi. Thanda died later that night, beside her mate.
