Name Meaning:
Matumaini means 'optimism' in Swahili.

Body Description:
Matumaini is a slim, long-legged cougar. He's well-built in general, with a long, sweeping tail that he always swishes from side to side. He has small, but bright eyes, a triangular head shape, and a small, scruffy tuft of fur on his head.

He is a dull, brown-orange color. What comes to mind is a burnt orange, he calls it. He has a creamy tan underbelly, toes, and muzzle. His fur is short and usually groomed. Matumaini has a distinctive stripe of brown that goes from his head-tuft (including this) to his tail, and completely covering his tail. All except the tip, which is the orange-brown of his main body.

Matumaini has an eye shading pattern too, brown on the top and creamy tan on the bottom. He has a stripe of brown from the corner of his eye to the bottom of his muzzle, on either side of his face. His ears are also brown.

His nose is a light gray-pink. His eyes are very contrasting, an almost neon green.

Personality:
Spirited and cheerful, Matumaini is a friend to everyone he meets. He is a bundle of hyper goofiness as a cub, and never really lost his sense of fun. He is boisterous and energetic, always in the mood to run and play.

Obviously, he is rarely upset or angry. It is hard to get him unhappy at all. He has a very long temper, never really becoming furious unless it is an extremely necessary situation. He knows to keep himself out of the way of degrading attacks--with words or claws, and living alone decreases the chance of him becoming severely upset by anything.

When he does come across another cougar, he is instantly delighted. Although he has yet to find a mate or best friend, he revels in the chance to converse with another--no matter how exasperating they find him. He doesn't care what others think about him, a great advantage.

Matumaini is strong-willed and determined too. He hates having to give up and admit defeat. He has always been a winner, since the day he was born.
