I was browsing through my files on my computer and this image popped into my head XD

This is what I think happened to Mheetu:
Scar had kept threatening to kill Mheetu. Mheetu was now a teen at the time and could look after himself. So, when Nala went to find help, she brought Mheetu with her and left him with Ni's Pride. On Nala's way back to Pride Rock to help Simba, she stopped by Ni's pride and told Mheetu, but he said he wouldn't return until he was sure Scar was dead. And, in SP, Mheetu was off to start his own pride :3 My theory anyway ^-^
