This day was going to be perfect.

Hizara ran with his friends, Mkua and Hifeo. Suddenly, the trio saw hazel eyes staring at them in the shadows. Mkua thought they can play adventure with the lion, and Hifeo thought it was a hyena or other danger, but Hizara knew they shouldn't. His older twin sister, Kisasi! She would see it as cowardly if they ran, and she would hurt them if they played around with her.
Mkua and Hifeo were called over by their mothers to have baths. Kisasi came out of the rocks, and Hizara never seen his sister so beautiful, and she smelled of coconuts and limes. Her pawsteps were poise and her hazel eyes...were for once gentle.
"Hey, you really should get a bath. You have burrs in your mane." She purred as she walked past him.
But Hizara showed fear, because his crush Kuibiwa was with another cub...Hifeo, to be exact.
Hizara started to cry, and Kisasi smirked, and the darkness in her seemed to swallow her up, her sweet scent gone.
"Oh, don't cry little brother. Don't cry..."

Why? Why can't I cry? I love Kuibiwa...I love her...so much...


He should be crying. He should know he shouldn't bother with love, for it never lasts.
