how'd u get the bg to look like the main color of this page? how to get the transparent?

this is just a layer I took from a pic. I scan in a sketch, then I make a transparent layer and trace back over my lines, often fixing mistakes in the sketch as I go. but this is one of the final layers in a pic before I merge it down all the way. I just saved it in Animation Shop Pro so it stayed transparent in GIF format. I can save it with a transparency in PNG, but that's too large to upload here.
