"Shush..." Nuku murmured. Nilu was practically bouncing off the walls. "But I want to see them!" she squeaked. Nuku, who was pacing a couple of feet from the restless cub, chuckled. "Be patient, my child." Nilu gave him a withering look. "But you always say patience isn't one of my talents!" she replied defiantly. Nuku went over and nudged the cub's tan fur. "It's not one of mine, either," he confessed. That seemed to quiet Nilu in its own way. "Okay, Dad." Suddenly, there was a wail from behind the zebra cloak that blocked the entrance of a cave. Nuku visually flinched, and Nilu whimpered. "Dad, is Mom going to be okay?" she asked. Nuku nodded. "Yes, darling. Now go play with the other cubs for a while." Nilu's eyes lit up. "Really?" she asked. "Really," Nuku replied, nudging her toward the cave entrance. "Go on. Git." Nilu giggled and dashed out of the cave, squeaking "Freedom!" Suddenly a head poked out from behind the zebra pelt. A lioness smiled at Nuku. "You can come in now, if you're quiet," she whispered. Nuku sighed with relief and slipped into the room. Lying on the floor, breathing heavily, was his mate, Saviu. "Saviu!" he murmured, rushing to her side. Saviu looked up, obviously exhausted. "Nuku, they're twins. Twin girls," she whispered, lying her head on the cool cave floor. Nuku averted his attention now to two squirming bundles held in his mate's paws. "They're beautiful," he breathed. "But they look nothing alike. How are they twins?" he asked. Saviu smiled up at him. "Look at their eyes, darling." Nuku did as he was told and gasped. Their eyes were different colors. The dark one's left eye was green, and it's right eye was electric blue. The light one was just the opposite. It's left eye was blue and its right was bright green. "Oh, we're blessed. We're blessed..." Nuku murmured, his eyes gleaming with pride. "We have gifted cubs," he breathed in Saviu's ear. "They will grow up to be queens... The queens of our pride. They are the first Bless-eds in years."...

A skit of the birth of the two future queens of my OC TLK pride. In my pride, two cubs born of the same parents with oppositely-colored eyes are blessed with extraordinary powers and are destined to become the kings and queens of their pride. They are considered twins and are destined to rule together without fighting. They're called Blessed-eds. I thought it was cool when I thought of it. Hope you enjoy!
