Scar knew that killing the cubs, Tama, Tojo, Kula, Chumvi, and Malka, who were from another Pride would only cause a war. So instead, he simply threatened them and said that returning would mean death. He let the cubs of Mufasa's Pride live so there would be more strength in the Pride and so the lionesses wouldn't become even more depressed than they already were. He knew that Mheetu wasn't his son. Mheetu was soft and brightly colored. He let Mheetu live simply for the purpose of a back-up heir. It was clear that Nuka was on the verge of failure. He also allowed Mheetu to live to keep Sarafina on the edge of paranoia. Scar hated Sarafina. Sarafina tormented him as a cub. Scar wanted to get back at her, but killing Mheetu wasn't the answer. His thoughts turned to Nala. Nala would be an adult in a few seasons. Suddenly, Scar knew what he had to do...
