As a cub Kairo is abandoned, left to die in the desert outside his pride's territory. The reason is because his clan does not want any male king cheetah cubs for fear that when he is grown he will challenge the pride's leader. Despite this, however, Kairo does survive, though he will never trust anyone but himself. He loves to play though he has no friends (a result of being abandoned). He is sweet, faithful, and brave at heart but he needs someone to open up this inner part of him because now, as he lives alone hating his pride, he only shows quiet, agressive behavior. He has grown to six months of age.
