D'mitri is Kakusu's father, he is very brave but he doesn't have brawns like other male lions. He has a gray coat with silvery white tips on his ears, tail, and toes. His mane is a moon color just a little lighter than his fur. He looks after Kakusu alone since his mate was killed on a hunt for some water buffalo.
While his mate and other lionesses were about to take down a female buffalo, she was about to grab the hind leg when a male ram her from the side and slammed her into the river. With the injury to her side she lost her energy quickly and.. drowned. They found her down river laying soaking wet on the shore.

D'mitri tries to encourage his son to get to know others but Kakusu, feeling guilt from his mothers death, doesn't want to replace that empty hole in his heart that was for his mother.
