An entry for a contest on TLKFAA. The theme was simply hyenas, so I decided to take that theme and run with it. I imagine this scene not really as a "what if", but more of a "behind the scenes" thing. I imagine something like this taking place some time after Nala left, but before Simba returned, and I imagine Shenzi's argument making little to no headway with Scar.
