Over the years, from cub hood to adult hood, Scar had formed a very close relationship with the hyenas... But at the end of the day they were all just his pawns, except for one low ranking female... Her name was Aina, the mother of shenzi. After Uru, his own mother, had died from illness, Aina had become a second mother to him... And when news of her death reached him he was horrified... But he couldn't get there soon enough, after a recent encounter with the hyenas he was under lock and key with his father... it was weeks before he finally made it out to the elephant grave yard to morn. But by then the body of the female hyena was nothing but grime, bones, and maggots..

Scar sat by the mess, sadness in his eyes. Despite the gasps of the clan, he scooped up a bit of the remains and began to speak to himself.

"Father always told me that when you die your body becomes the grass... But, my dearest Aina, it doesn't seem to be the case here. For when I heard of your death I came as soon as I could. Unfortunately it took weeks for me to be able to stow away from that blasted rock my father imprisons me in. When I came to mourn at your resting ground I did not find grass... I found bones, rotting flesh, and maggots. Hundreds of maggots turning your once beautiful form into dirt... Dirt that will offer no fertility to grass. Dirt that will scatter with the wind...

And so I correct my fathers amendment.

When you die your body rots at the mouths of maggots, only to be blown away into the wind and forgotten forever..."
