Kata was born in the Outlands a short while after Kiara had been born. Kata and his mother had a very close relationship, but his mother died when Kata was a young cub, and so his aunt Zira raised him. Kata did not enjoy living in the Outlands, nor did he enjoy being cared for by Zira. Kata dreamed of living a life without having to worry or work. Eventually he decided to leave, and he traveled by himself for a long time, before finally settling and making some friends.
