The story of Zira (Prequel)

The story of Zira (Prequel)

Postby Kopalover » June 26th, 2011, 9:31 pm

This is another story I am making, because I don't think anyone really knows where Zira comes from. This is my theory!

Spoiler: show
Chapter One:

Deep in the Valley Of Hate, a princess was born the King Kikatili and Queen Furaha of the Valley's. A dark cream coloured female cub, with a faint light brown stripe on her forehead that ended between her shoulder blades and matching red eyes. Zira was her name, and she wasn't the only cub of Furaha. Wivu was the slightly older brother of Zira.

Wivu being dark pelted; green eyed with a white tuft, unlike Zira, Wivu was not the son of Kikatili. He brought hate upon the cub, being his evil step father. Every characteristic Wivu had, was from his real father. The one his mother fell in love with when she was just an adolescent, and was brutally murdered by Kikatili and his father. So Kikatili could have Furaha, not knowing she had a cub with the lion he murdered.

Kikatili didn’t like Zira, being as she looked like her mother. He wanted a male cub, which looked exactly like him from the start. Blazing red eyes, grey pelt, and a jet black mane like him. The only thing he liked about Zira was her eyes, being red like his. She got her dark cream colour from her mother and her light brown tail tuft from her maternal grandfather.

Wivu walked into the entrance of the dirt den, looking his mother deep in her blue eyes. He lie beside her and watch his half-sister twitch as she slept. A smile was forming at the edge of his mouth, the first smile in a few weeks. Rarely ever did anyone smile in the Valley Of Hate, but Wivu smiled the least. Knowing he lives with a murderer who hates his origin.

“Zira is her name, right?” Asked Wivu, his voice was husky with a slight English accent. Looking down at Zira with his bright green eyes. Furaha laughed, looking at her perfect son.

“Yes Wivu, Zira. Your little sister.” Whispered Furaha, as she cradled the youngster in her arms. Without a care in the world. Everything broke when, in the background, she heard Kikatili screaming at the lionesses to go and hunt for the Pride. Laughing as they ran from him, he walked into the cave. Kikatili was staring deep into Furaha’s cyan eyes.

“Why are you lounging around, Wivu?” He roared, scaring young Zira into a crying fit and making Wivu jump behind his mother. “Go-. “ He hesitated. “Go clean your den!” He roared again. Wivu had his own small den; Kikatili only wanted his own blood to sleep in the Royal Den.

Wivu ran from his Step Father as fast as his legs would carry him. Smiling at the lionesses that were around his age, hoping to get one of them to like him. Running into his den, he opened the small door; leading to a tunnel he made. No one but Wivu knew about this tunnel. He used it for food storage and hiding. Right now; for both.

Twisting and turning throughout the short tunnel, finally entering the large room full of meat and small pools of water. Wivu had wanted to live in here for the rest of his life, but someone would eventually find him or he would run out of food.

Back at the Royal Den, Kikatili and Furaha were talking about the pride’s future. Sending Kikatili pacing back and forth, as Furaha still gazed at her beautiful cub.

“I want another cub.” He said, trying not to raise his voice. “That looks more like me.” He finished, still pacing back and forth; looking at Furaha. Sighing, Furaha nodded her head.

“If my king wants it, he’ll obviously have to get it.” She whispered, “Or he’ll have to murder me too!” She stated, still remembering the gruesome day, Kikatili killed her love. Though she loved Kikatili, her love still lingered for her previous mate, Kufa.

“DO YOU HAVE TO BE LIKE THAT?” He roared, waking poor Zira up again! Faraha looked at him and pointed to the door; licking her daughter. “Fine.” He grumbled, turning to look at is beautiful mate one more time before leaving.

“Do NOT come back until your attitude is gone for good!” She said, not getting out of her way to look at him, she was angered and her baby was making it feel better. “Zira, may the kings and queens be proud of what you will become.” She whispered, “A Princess.”

I don't care if nobody even reads this, I'm going to still post. As I will NOT quit this one, I will keep going! :)

Spoiler: show
Chapter two

Zira was now a young healthy cub, running faster than most cubs her age. Fighting in the age group older than how old she was. She was only like this because she hoped to impress her father. Kikatili never came back, after the fight with Furaha. She worried he would come back, with pure hate in his eyes, killing everyone in sight. Knowing him, he would kill Wivu and Zira too.

Furaha never told Zira about her father, even when she asked. She also told Wivu, never to speak of Kikatili in front of Zira. Even though she vowed never to punish another lion, she would send Wivu to the nursery. He hated the nursery, so many annoying newborns. Crying and mewing for their mothers. They were out hunting, and guarding the lands.

Zira waddled in with her best friend, Nuka. “Mother, can Nuka and I go play in the river?” Asked Zira, with a wide smile spread across her cheeks. Zira was about a few months younger than Nuka. Yet, they were King and Queen to be.

Furaha nodded, “Only if I come with you, to make sure nobody gets injured.” Answering, she got to her feet and cracked her back. Allowing the cubs to run ahead, her mind went to how the scenery improves since Kikatili left. The grey trees were now Kelly Green, the previous brown grass was now Forest Green. Colours changed all over the Valley of Hate, now known as Nzuri Gardens.

“C’mon mother!” Zira called out, laughing alongside Nuka. Up ahead was the azure blue river, which was once air force blue. Watching as the cubs splashed through the water, soaking their fur, Wivu popped from the trees. Carrying a small zebra is his adolescent mouth.

“Mother, the herds are coming back. Just look what I caught!” Excitedly, he gently put the small zebra down in his mother’s paws. “You can eat it, I already ate.” He nodded, walking back to the trees. “Where are you going?” Furaha asked, looking at her son with confused eyes. “I’m going to get food for Zira and Nuka.” Answering he jumped back into the trees, cracking just a few sticks, then no sound.

Zira and Nuka played in the water, catching fish and hoping on rocks. Nuka’s parents would be proud; their only son was getting along with his bride-to-be. Furaha was already proud, her daughter and son-in-law-to-be were the perfect couple. Even the pride lionesses saw the connection. Even though the water was only about two feet deep, Furaha was still watching forwards.

Ripping a piece of meat from the zebra, she chewed slowly. Watching the other side of the river, as their land ended a few feet from the stream. Another lion from across the river was watching the cubs as well, eyeing Furaha. As he knew she would attack if he even slightly touched one child. Squinting, she kept looking at the children then back at the intruder.

“Mom, look!” Zira yelled, jumping off a large rock and into the water. “That’s great honey!” Furaha yelled back, Nuka was just exiting the water. About 10 seconds past, Zira still didn’t come back up. Jumping up, Furaha dived into the water searching for Zira.

At the bottom of the river, Zira’s tail was stuck under a rock; her entire body was using strength to push the rock off. She started panicking as she say her mother swimming towards her, Furaha started reaching for her but paws came from nowhere and removed the rock from Zira’s tail and pulled her above the water. Coughing, the lion and two lionesses dragged their bodies to the land. Furaha looked at the strange lion.

“What are you?” She yelled anger in her eyes. Pulling Zira closer, she put herself closer to the lion and Zira further away; behind her. The lion had many scars on his dark face, green eyes and a dirt grey mane. His tail had been bent in many places. “You don’t remember me? I’m alive. Wivu’s father, Kuishi.”
