Ok, here's another "Prince of Egypt"-inspired tie-in to my RP "Trials in the Pridelands", again dedicated to my RP's castmates. I found that the song fit 'Tani's situation and modified it to fit the story. No bashing or flaming of any kind, please.

All I Ever Wanted
Nala found Vitani weeping in the den where they had once hidden from Simba. Nala approached her friend.
“Vitani, are you Ok?” Nala asked.
Vitani said nothing for a long moment. Nala was not used to seeing her like this. It was very rare that Vitani dropped the air of confidence that she seemingly always had.
“It’s getting dark, ‘Tani. We should be getting back to Pride Rock,” Nala said.
Vitani stopped weeping finally.
“Fine, let’s go,” she said.
The two lionesses emerged from the den and began the walk home. As she walked, Vitani could feel something like a heinous voice attempting to plant doubt in her head. It spoke in the hateful voice of Zira:
“You are not a princess of the Pridelands…”
It was this voice that suddenly made Vitani break into a run towards the only home she had ever known.
“Wait for me! I can’t run that fast right now because of my injuries!” Nala shouted as she followed and tried to keep up.
When Vitani was somewhat closer to Pride Rock, new words began to flow through her mind, words of her own:
Rising over the savannah
Mighty and majestic and all I’ve ever known
All I ever wanted
Sweet smells of flowers
And a great den of stone
All I ever wanted
This is my home
With my father, mother, brother
Oh so noble, oh so strong
Now I am home
Here among my fellow pride members
I belong
And if anybody doubts it, they couldn’t be more wrong
I am a sovereign princess of the Pridelands
A daughter of the proud history that’s shown
Written in the stars
Surely this is all I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
Finally, Vitani arrived in the den. Her sadness began to subside as she smelled the familiar smells and saw her pridemates. She went over to where the royal family slept and laid down. It was good to be home. Just then, Nala arrived. The future queen looked to the sky.
“Oh great kings, help her,” Nala said.
