This is Part IV and the Christmas special of the Circle of Life Series. I’d like to thank all the support I’ve got so far and I can’t wait for xLiliac Vixen’s review of the first two Parts of this series. I hope you enjoy.

Chapter I The Great Brain Robbery

“What happened on the 25th of December 1194”? The voice boomed.
It was talking to the man strapped to the chair.
The man was blood soaked and sweaty from the interrogation methods they’d made him go through.
He had blue eyes, a lot like Nala’s, but the drug they put him on was starting to make his eyes go golden.
Appealing to his hidden trait and burying the blue under the golden sand.
The man was called Richard.
“How much longer will they keep me here for?” He thought. “I wish I’d never found that stupid book.”
As the drug took affect, panting, he started to speak.
“Simba. Was preparing for. With Mheetu. The invasion of the Hyena Empire. But it was the Ahadi festival day so plans were put on hold.”
And so he told them more Tales of the pridelands as the animal inside him grew.
One or two of his ancestors were giving him strength in his head.
“Don’t give up yet.” It said. “We are one and I will help you.”
Sometimes this voice would be a female’s.
There were lions inside his head.

Chapter II Oh Little Town Of PrideLands

Kopa was the first to wake up. He slipped of the necklace of Sarabi’s body. He snuck out silently not wanting to let anyone see what he was doing.
But Sarabi did wake up, and followed him out of the warm, dark cave.
She followed him for long. Her old eyes adjusting to the light and beginning to heal.
“I’m getting to old.” She thought but soldiered on.
Soon Kopa stopped by a tree. And he picked five flowers and put them into a bouquet and laid them by the tree.
Kopa’s tears started to fall.
This is where Rafiki. His tutor, his story teller. His friend has worked and died.
Kopa sniffed. “Why can’t my despair end?”
Sarabi soon stepped out of the shadows.
“I miss him to” she said. Kopa turned in surprise, his eyes still red with tears.
“Not as much as I did.” He said sadly.
Sarabi soon hugged him
“I do miss him as much as you, he was the person who married me and presented my son, and your father.” Kopa looked up at her.
She was right.
People were as sad as he was but they continued.
And he should do the same.
He licked her and ran, Sarabi called after him.
“Where are you going?”
“To meet an old friend.”
Sarabi shook her head and smiled.
They grow up so fast.

Chapter III Pilgrimage

Robert was limping. Where am I? Who long ago did I flee Cairo. When will I see life?
Robert held the cross hanging from his neck and held it close.
God when I find life.
Let them be gentle.
The slave traders in Jaffa had not been gentle.
Robert had joined the Third Crusade as a priest to pray in the Holy Sepulchre. But since the failure of the third Crusade he had been captured by slave traders who sold him in Cairo.
He had escaped and was now wondering aimlessly in the Serengeti.
He had been walking none stop for Months.

Chapter IV The Crown in The Cracker

The other lions woke up. Sarabi had returned and was lying down with Sarafina.
Simba looked around for Kopa. When he looked around in panic Sarabi just looked at him.
And he knew he was okay.
As Kovu and Kiara started to stretch. Simba went over to them.
“Can I talk with both of you?”
Kiara and Kovu looked in surprise.
“Yes I guess so.” Kovu said confused.
What does he want? He thought.
“Look.” He said. “I know this is a lot but the Outlands are a different state to the Pridelands and they are baying for a king and queen.”
Kiara and Kovu looked at each other.
“You want us to be king and queen of the Outlands.” Said Kiara
“Yes.” Simba said. Expecting them to say no.
“Can we just think for a minute?” Simba nodded. It was a lot to ask.
Kiara and Kovu went into the corner to talk. Nala went over to Simba
“Isn’t that a lot to ask.” Simba started to talk with the corner of his mouth.
“That’s why I expect them to say no.”

Kiara and Kovu began to talk.
“What do you think Kiara.” Said Kovu
“I don’t know what do you think.” Kiara hissed.
Kovu nodded and looked outside the cave and he saw outsiders walking.
No ruler.
No pride.
They where lost.
“It needs to happen Kiara, not necessarily us though.”
Kiara started to think.
If she did this her life would change.
But she would cause so much joy.
She would be with Kovu. Also Simba and Nala still got to do things.
It didn’t mean she would become a boring vegetable.
“Yes.” She said. “I want to do it.”
Kovu smiled and licked Kiara.
“An Ahadi surprise I think.”
Simba smiled. He’d heard what they said.

Chapter V A Political Pudding

Sarafina, Mheetu and Nala walked to the cave where Mpenzi was imprisoned.
This time it was Sarafina’s turn to hit the prisoner.
Mpenzi looked up
“Sarafina, amore.”
Sarafina went over to him and licked him. Mheetu’s eyes started to water again.
“Where have you been, and why are you in prison?” Sarafina said her voice seasoned with sadness and anger.
“I’ve had to run amore, for my own safety. I would have spent my whole life with you and the children had it not been for that.”
Sarafina understood but played the cold shoulder.
“And why are you in prison.”
“We’ll.” He said nervously.
But he told the story in full.

The zebra Karma de Medici was enjoying his lie in the sun.
“If there wasn’t such thing as politics,” he thought.
“This is what I’d do.”
Silently though he was being watched. Mpenzi was stalking his prey through the Serengeti grasses.
“I’m so hungry.” He thought. “I’ve been running to long, I’ll eat him then I’ll go back to amore.”
But Karma heard the rustling.
And from his childhood he learned that.
If you hear rustling.
RUN.
And that’s exactly what he did.

Before politics he was the fastest animal in the pridelands besides from cheetahs. So Mpenzi stood no chance.
Soon Karma ran inside a cave.
Mpenzi panting and thinking "What the hell is up with this guy."Walked into the cave
"I've got you now." Mpenzi thought.
Suddnely two rhinos and Zazu came out of the cave.
“I think you’d better come with us.” Zazu said.
He did.

After this story Sarafina raised her paw.
“So you chased the fastest zebra across the pridelands so you’d have the energy to come back to me.”
Mpenzi hesitated
“Yes.” He said finally.
Sarafina then kissed him so hard that he fainted due to lack of oxygen and said.
“I love you so much.” Mheetu couldn’t resist it.
“Why is my family so messed up?”
Both the girls looked at him.
“Shut up.” They said.

Chapter VI Let Me Roll It

Kopa finally reached the Outlands. He held a bouquet of flowers in his mouth. And a slice of wildebeest meat.
It made his mouth water. But it was for a special person.
After wandering for hours he finally saw the pride.
They were still looking wretched.
They were hungry.
They were thirsty.
They were sad.
But at least they know they live in hell. Thought Kopa
Simba had arranged Kiara and Kovu to come in an hour. The Outsiders were preparing celebrations.
Simba since he had liberated them and arranged animals to go on things he liked to call “trade routes.”
Where he would send animals to drop off meat and coconuts for its life saving milk.

Kopa soon found Vitani lying down.
Sad, but happier then usually since she would soon she her brother.
Who hadn’t visited her in days?
She leaped for joy when she saw Kopa.
“Kopa,” she cried and snuggled against him.
“Thes aww fow yoi.” He said with the presents in his mouth.
“Oh thank you.” She said taking the presents out his mouth.
She licked him.
Kopa smiled.
“I’m so sorry Vitani. I’ve been gone for so long. Zira trying to kill me, lack of connection with my family, with you. But it’s over and I want to be with you forever”.
Vitani started crying.
“Yes Kopa, I want to be with you also, I love you so much. I’ve gone through all these terrible times just to see you face again.”
Kopa nodded and smiled.
“I want to tell you how much I love you. But I can’t. My heart is like a wheel.”
Vitani looked and licked him.
“Let me roll it.” Vitani said completing his sentence.
They stood there hugging.
As the king and queen arrived. Kiara looked at Kopa and smiled. Kovu looked and Vitani and smiled.

Kopa was no longer alone.

Chapter VII The Ballad Of Mheetu and Tojo

Nala and Mheetu had left the cave alone.
Mpenzi and Sarafina had left to have a honeymoon.
“Lucky.” Thought Nala.
Simba would be lucky very soon.First though Nala would ask Mheetu a question.
“Mheetu,” she said. “The marks are from the hyenas but what are the talon marks on your arms from.”
Mheetu smiled.
He then whistled and two beautiful falcons came and landed on his arms.
“Their beautiful.” Nala said in wonder.
“We are aren’t we?” Said the first falcon
“I think she was talking to me Mubarak.” Said the second one.
“No it was me Saladin.”
Mheetu rolled his eyes as if to say. “Never say that again.”
“Where did they come from?”
Mheetu started to look sad.
"Tojo.”
“Yes, he ran away with you.”
Even the falcons started to look sad.
“We were looking for water, when they were both still chicks.”
And so Mheetu began. (Sorry for all these flash backs.)

The two lions were walking.
Tojo was very much like Mheetu, but with darker fur.
Tojo had wanted to go to Birdistan to show his chicks where they would live and also because he loved birds.
Mheetu agreed. As they where walking into Birdistan, the darkness swallowed them and the found it hard to see.
While they were walking Tojo said something very disturbing.
“Mheetu, I’m bleeding.”
Mheetu then turned around to see Tojo lying on the floor with claw marks along his back.
Behind him was a strange lion.
He had a black mane, like an outsider but golden fur like a pridelander.
He was smirking over Tojo’s body.
Tojo was slowly bleeding to death.
“Sorry.” It said. “Couldn’t resist.” Then the Phantom ran off.
Blending into the night.

Mheetu knew it was pointless chasing after him and anyway he needed to help Tojo. He dragged Tojo into the middle of Birdistan.
Birdistan was a flat plain but with many tropical trees and birds were preparing for the night.
Mheetu looked at the wounds. They were too grave.
Why did he attack?
There was no reason.
It wasn’t fair.
Holding back the tears he flipped Tojo over onto his bleeding back.
“If I can’t save him I’m going to give him the best sight he’ll ever see.”
Tojo winced in pain.
“Mheetu.” He groaned.
Mheetu couldn’t hide the tears and just smiled and nodded.
“It’s going to be alright.” He lied.
He then roared so all the birds flew out of the trees.
They made a haze of moving, vibrating colour (im from the UK that’s how we spell colour)
It was beautiful.
So many colours.
Moving.
Beating.
Mheetu went back to the Tojo who was smiling.
“That, was, beautiful.” He said.
He then started to cough blood.
“You’re a.” he then swallowed.
“Really good friend.” Then he sighed and turned his head.
He was dead.
Mheetu the closed his eyes.
“Requisecat in Pache.” He said.
His soul just a throbbing, wailing ghost.
But he didn’t show it.
He just stood next to the corpse while the chicks went on his shoulders. The birds even started to stare.
Silent Night.
The Night when Tojo died.

Chapter VIII Tres Leonis Gentibus

The Ahadi festival was over.
All the animals where returning home. Most of them smelling like fermented fruit juice.
Simba and Nala where returning from their honeymoon.
Nala was being excitable.
“Why don’t we go back to the cave and we do things together.”
“Ok amore.” Said Simba cheekily nibbling Nala’s neck.
The same kind of thing was happening to every couple.
Including Mpenzi and Sarafina.
Except some royal family members.

Kiara was homesick.
She was going to have to sleep in the Outsider tunnel network now, she missed her old cave.
Nala used to get leafs to make it more comfortable.
She felt miserable.
Kovu though cheered her up.
“How’s the baby.” Touching Kiara stomach.
“Fine. It hasn’t been kicking.”
Kovu smiled but Kiara didn’t think it as total good news.
“When are we going to tell Simba and Nala? I doubt they’d be happy, especially since you prepared it before you were in dad’s good book.”
Kovu had been avoiding this conversation for a long time.
But he knew he couldn’t just wait for it to be born.
And what were they going to say when Kiara’s stomach swelled.
She’d just gained weight. As if.
“I will tell him.” Kovu promised
“Tomorrow.” Kiara ordered.
“I promise.”

Kopa was walking with Vitani. They were playing in the light the moon provided.
They were by the path the animals went by to give provisions to the Outsiders.
Suddenly they heard a loud noise and went to where the noise came from.

Sarabi was lying in the cave.
She was lonely.
Sarafina was busy with Mpenzi.
The world is a sob for the lonely she thought.
Then she remembered.
I’ve got to collect Kopa.
And she set off to collect him. No longer feeling the burden of old age.

She reached the lovers before they heard the noise.
“Kopa, it’s getting late, it’s time to go home.”
Kopa looked at Vitani and licked her goodbye.
Then they heard the noise.
A sort of wailing scream.
“Must be a call for help.” Cried Sarabi.
She called Kopa and Vitani to get meat and coconuts from the animals and Sarabi picked some leaves of a plant to use as bandages.
They set off towards the noise, provisions in mouth.

The noise came from Robert.
Robert hadn’t drank in three days and knew he was going to die.
In one last desperate act he shouted for help.
Then lied in the dust waiting for death.

Then Robert felt something sniffing him. He opened his eyes and saw three lions.
One bearing leaves.
One bearing Meat
And one bearing coconuts
Robert muttered three words.
“Omnes deus videt.”
Then fainted.
The lions looked at each other.
“Happy Ahadi day.” Joked Vitani
