Chapter 16

Simba: Well, after we managed to our Uncle Scar and the hyenas finished him off, the ones that survived the fire ran away somewhere. Apparently growing in number, and that older hyena, we’ve never seen her before.
Adofo: And there’s something else, when they first attacked us they seemed to know Christen and Sampson would be kidnapped.
Kelsey: So you’re saying they may be working together?!
Knuckles: Sounds pretty dumb to me!
Adofo: Hey I’m just telling you what happened.
Sonic: So even if these hyenas and Eggman are working together, what’s the worst that can happen?
Back at Eggmans new factory Eggman consults with Kabila.
Kabila: So, they got away…….I THOUGHT WERE A SUPER VILLIAN!!!! What kind of evil genius can’t even keep a few hostages from getting taken back in a factory full of destructive machines!!?!??!?
Eggman: Hey, you never said that they would also be teaming up! You said that first those pridelanders would come then those annoyances of team sonic would come later! I wasn’t prepared!!
Kabila: Well thanks to you we’ve lost our only leverage! And let’s face it, just us sending out more robot and hyenas wouldn’t do nothing, even I’m not that foolish to try that!
Eggman: What if we sent them out together!? Not just with each other but by putting them together!
Kabila: What are you talking about?!!?
Eggman: I mean, if I were to make some robotic suits for your little animals to wear, we could easily wipe them all out!

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN !

“We're WILD animals. We aren't little pets that humans carry in their shirt. Let me remind you. We scavenge and steal from lions, let them do all the dirty work! Females are at the top of the hierarchy! You dimwit.” Kabila snarled. “Plus, I don't know your enemies or their advantages. You, on the other hand, have worked against them for years.”
“So have you.” Eggman replied. “I don't know anything about cats.”
“Then you shouldn't be here.”
“KABILA!”
A female hyena ran in the room.
“I have a plan! I have a plan!”

December

All of them haven't faced Eggman or Kabila in three months. Although, Simba and Kelsey agreed that it was normal (at one point Sonic hadn't faced Eggman for almost a year) so they were all prepared. They all trained every week, just to be prepared.
“Where are Knuckles and Kelsey?” Kiara said. Despite being total opposites, Knuckles accepted Kiara as a 'friend'.
“Most likely in the cave.” Sonic said.
Raising an eyebrow, Kiara went into the cave. It was dark, but she could hear a purr-like noise. Even if lions had the ability to see in the dark, but it was pitch black, to the point that Kiara couldn't see. So she just shrugged and walked out. But, Knux and Kels were inside cuddling in the corner.
“AAAAAAHHHHH IT'S SO COLD.” Chantel said. “I wish that I was by the fireplace right now.”
“Deal with it Chay. We won't be home until summer.” Lacey reassured her half-sister.
Chantel just whined.
Tails walked up to Adofo. “Adofo? Can I ask you something?”
Adofo nodded.
“I'm getting bored just training every Tuesday... you wanna do something?”

Chapter 18

Tails: Uhhh maybe in a little bit, but listen I want to talk to you about something.
Adofo: What is it?
Tails: I know you’ve had a hard time trusting us, I mean if you guys wandered into our place then we’d probably be the same way. What I mean is I know like you and Knuckles haven’t really been getting along that well, but you’re trying so….thank you!
Adofo: Yeah, no problem. Just don’t harm the family and we’ll be good!
Tails: Hey, are you sure your family is safe? The humans anyway.
Adofo: Yeah, Nick, Christen and Sampson went to say with Christen’s parents. Shanon was really hoping to come back and see me after spending so much time at her grandparents, but I don’t want any of them involved in this if I can help it.
Tails: Wow, you know Knuckles and Kelsey don’t really talk to Reese at all really.
Adofo: Who’s Reese?
Tails: Oh yeah, it’s their daughter, they kind of banished her.
Adofo: WHAT?! Why?
Tails: She’s uhhhhhh well she’s ummmmm well honestly she’ll hit on anything with a pulse. It got to be way out of hand so they had her sent away. And don’t tell her parents this but she actually founded her own pride!
Adofo: Really?!
Tails: Yep, with some lion named Cole. They live in a very unnatural place, it’s really cold where they are, they call themselves the Wynter Pride apparently. And really don’t tell them this, rumor has it Reese is pregnant with three cubs right now.
Adofo: Alright well, why not tell anyone.
Tails: Well Knuckles loves Kelsey.
Adofo: Yeah. I think we’ve all noticed.
Tails: He loves her so much that he looks at their kids as a part of her, and he’s really protective. So even though they exiled her he still doesn’t like anyone to touch her.
Adofo: Okay……..so what will he do if he finds out?
Tails: Hopefully you’ll never have to find out.
Kelsey: Hey everyone! Gather around! We’ve been thing lately, I’d hate to say it but I think Adofo is right about the hyenas and Eggman working together. So we’ve decided to bring in some help!
Knuckles: And we know just where to start looking. We’re going to find our daughter Reese, she’ll be a great asset!
Kelsey: And hopefully exile has taught her some self-control.
Tails: Uh-oh…….

CHAPTER NINETEEN !

“It's been a long time since you've seen her.” Sonic said. “I thought you guys erased each other's memory?”
Knuckles just growled.
Why would Knux want to loose the memory of his firstborn? Kelsey wondered. We were lions anyway, but still...
She just put her hand on her hip and stroked her bangs.
“Uh...they have a daughter? I thought they were teens.” Kiara said.
“Well...Eggman turned us into lions a couple of years ago. Knux and Kelsey had their own little pride on the other side of the savannah. And they had two cubs, Reese and Alec.” Tails explained. “Now that they're back to normal, they're teens again, but hey, they're still their parents. Even if their lion bodies were destroyed.”
“Ohhhhh.” Kiara replied. “I get it now.”

Chapter 20

Kelsey: You know I hear she joined some pride, The Wynter Pride I think.
Simba: Never heard of them.
Kelsey: Yeah they live in some weird part of the savannah that is actually cold and icy.
Tails: Uh you know what if she hasn’t changed?! I mean if she hasn’t would she still be any help?!
Kelsey: Maybe, maybe not, either way we need help and she can help. Come on, I think I know where it is.
Everyone gathers around and touches each other and Kelsey holds up an emerald.
Kelsey: CHOAS CONTROL!
They all vanish and on the other side of the savannah appear in a very cold land but still has the remembrance of Africa.
Adofo: WOOO! It’s cold!
Knuckles: Oh grow up!
A few lions walk by.
Kelsey: Hey you would happen to know where the “Wynter Pride” is do you?
Alan: Actually yeah, that’s our pride, we can take you there if you want.
Kelsey: That would be great!
The lions take team sonic and the pridelanders over to and ice encrusted cave.
Alan: Alright, the king and queen are inside!
Knuckles: Thanks!
Tails: Ohhhh this is going to end so badly!
They all enter the surprisingly warm cave with Kelsey and Knuckles leading.
Kelsey: Excuse us we’re looking for our daugh- REESE!!???
Reese: MOM, DAD!!!??????
Cole and Reese are snuggled up next to each other and immediately Knuckles notices his daughters very engorged tummy containing her cubs. Knuckles looks Cole right in the eyes with explosions in his eyes.
Knuckles: you………You…….YOU!!!!!!

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE !

“Hold up there, Knuxtie.” Kelsey reassured, patting Knuckles' back. The black echidna turned to her daughter.
“Dad, I can explain!” The red lioness exclaimed, jumping to her paws and trotting up to her parents, whom were no longer lions thanks to Kelsey's recent power discovery.
“Alright, you have thirty seconds Re. Spit it out, hon.” Kelsey said, bending down to pat Reese.
“You would've never guessed they're family!” Chantel whispered.
“Okay, so after you left I ran into Cole and he asked me and I said why not and he-”
“REESE YOU CAN AT LEAST BREATHE.” Knuckles shouted.
“...oh my god.” Was all Kelsey said.
Reese got her little attitude and did a fake sigh. “-and he did it and then we found this place and then I became pregnant and then we started getting members and-”
“Vous avez des aptitudes à l'écoute de mon père.” Snow said. Tails' translator read "You have my father's listening skills."
“Of all times Snow, why do you have to bring up Dad? You haven't seen him in three years.” Kelsey said.
“-and then the rest is history!” Reese finished.

Chapter 22

Knuckles: I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU!
Kelsey: Knux calm down!
Knuckles: NO! Our daughter is absolutely out of control! It’s about time she heard this!
Reese: NO DAD YOU NEED TO LISTEN! I AM HAPPY HERE, I’M IN LOVE WITH COLE AND I AM HAVING HIS CUBS! I HAVE CHANGED BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR ATTITUDE AND EGO YOU NEVER LISTEN!! AND IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE WAY I RUN MY LIFE YOU CAN GET OUT AND NEVER COME BACK!!!
Kelsey just looks on in shock not saying a word.
Knuckles: Reese……..I…………….I’m sorry.
Reese: ………sometimes….I just…….I don’t know……feel like you don’t love me, like you don’t even care. And I’ve felt even more distant since you and mom can’t even go back to being lions. It just……makes me feel so alone…….
Kelsey: Reese…
Knuckles kneels down in front of his daughter.
Knuckles: Reese, please look at me. Baby of course I love you!
Kelsey: We both do!
Knuckles: I know we weren’t the most supportive, especially me, but that does not come close to meaning we don’t love you with all our hearts!
Kelsey: That’s right!
Knuckles: And……deep down we had a feeling that us losing our ability to turn into lions would affect you but we never knew it meant this much to you.
Kelsey: If there was any possible way for us to be able to change into lions again we would do it in an instant. For you!
Reese: ……….really?
Knuckles: Yes. I know I’ve always tried to shield you, which is probably how you ended up like this, always flirting with boys and everything, but not anymore. You’re not my little girl anymore, you can make your own decisions. And you know what, now that I take a step back I think you’ve found yourself a good guy right here!
Knuckles reaches around his daughter and rubs her huge tummy.
Knuckles: And I’m really and glad you’re pregnant with his cubs, they’re going to have an amazing mother and father!
Reese’s eyes start to tear up and she moves in to hug her father and mother.
Reese: I’m sorry…….I really am!
Knuckles: It’s okay!
Kelsey: We’re sorry too!
After the three break apart they all start to calm down.
Knuckles: Well……glad that’s out of the way. If you don’t mind, I’m just going to go smash a few boulders outside really quick.

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE !

Kelsey put her hand on Knuckles' shoulder. "You don't need to. Just...breathe. Imagine what would happen if we still were arguing. What if you disowned her?"
"Actually, I'd have mixed feelings about that." The red echidna replied. "Just erase my memories so we can let Reese live her life. You were never pregnant."
"Are you sure you want that?"
"I'm sure, Caesera."
Kelsey gasped slightly when Knuckles called her by her tribe name.
She took off her bracelet and touched it to his head, and it glowed white. When she took it back and put it on again, Knuckles didn't remember his own daughter anymore.
Kelsey did the same to herself, and eventually everyone else (because there was no need to be reminded).
And instead of using Chaos Control to come home, they decided to walk, because Adofo realized they weren't that far.

Half an hour later

"How much longer?" Tails whined.
"...idiot." Knuckles growled.
Kelsey smiled slightly. "Not much, Tails. Another half a mile, maybe? I don't do math on the weekend."
Sonic was bored just because he was walking instead of running.
The lions were tired.
Adofo was getting sore.
Tails was complaining.
Chantel and Lacey were creepily quiet.
Knuckles was fine.
Kelsey kept getting distracted every once in a while.
Snow was just...being Snow.
Suddenly, they all heard hyena laughs.
"What's that noise?" Lacey said.
"Hyenas!" Exclaimed Nala.
Pretty soon, there was a huge fire.
Since Knuckles had fire powers, he was able to put a shield around everyone and lead them to safety.
They got out of the fire, but suddenly Kelsey screamed.
"Where are Chantel and Lacey?"
She turned around and ran back, Snow in hot pursuit, although Sonic was able to hold the French dog back.
However, Kelsey didn't run far.
"...they stayed behind." She said, making a whimper-like noise.
Knuckles walked up to her to comfort her. "They're gone, Kels. They chose to sacrifice their lives for us. What if they didn't? The hyenas would still be spreading the fire. To get us. At least by dying they stopped it."
However, it'd take a while for Kelsey to fully recover.
Knuckles was right.
Chantel and Lacey had stayed behind to let themselves burn to death.

Chapter 24

Simba: We’re all really sorry about your friends.
Adofo: Yeah.
Kelsey: Thank you……I just wish there was a better way.
Sonic: You know now we’re two men down. We should find some extra help in case they attack again. We’ve got to show that when we get knocked down we can get right back up!
The sound of a roaring engine can be heard of in the distance.
Tails: What’s that sound?
Soon an ATV comes rolling up to the group. The two riders take off their helmets, it’s Sampson and Shanon.
Adofo: SHANON!? SAMPSON!?
Shanon: Hi Daddy!
Sampson: Hey Dad!
Simba: What are you two doing here!
Sampson: We came to help!
Adofo: NO! Absolutely not!
Shanon: Come on dad!
Adofo: NO! And I thought you two were at your grandmother’s! Does your mother even know you’re here?!
Sampson: Yeah, we left a note for her. Come on dad we just want to help, you know we can and do you know why!?
Adofo: Why?
Sampson: Because we’re your kids! Please dad, just give us a chance to prove ourselves! We’ve both tried our whole lives to be just like you just let us do this!
Shanon: Please daddy!
Adofo: *sigh*……..it’s not that I know you can’t do it it’s just…..I don’t ant you two to get hurt…..but….you can help.
Shanon: Alright!
Sampson: We’ll make you proud dad!
Adofo: I know you will!

CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE !

"NO. NO. NO. NONONONONONONONONO. No minis. NO." Knuckles growled.
"Oh come on, Knuxtie. You're not going to die." Kelsey said, giggling, her depression seeming to have left.
Adofo, Shanon, and Sampson didn't seem to have any comments.
1 week later
Kelsey and Kopa were on patrol. Kelsey was in her wolf form.
Suddenly, the black wolfess froze.
"What?" Kopa whispered.
"Hyena. Female. Twelve o'clock. Probably pregnant. Green eyes."
Kopa darted for the bush, letting the femme handle it.
Kelsey dropped to a battle crouch and crept forward.
The hyena (Sabi - Kabila's cousin) frolicked around, throwing laughs and growls.
Suddenly, the black wolf exploded forward, and it all happened in a blur.
By the time the fighting was over (about three seconds later), it seemed that Kelsey had done a successful fatal blow. The black wolf trotted away, salty crimson blood on her black fur, Sabi's mixed with her own.
