I'm trying to get back to it. I have a free day today so I'll probably have the next chapter up soon. :)

Chapter 6:

Hatari and Amadi walked most of the way back to Pride Rock in silence. They came in sight of it when Amadi couldn't stand the silence any longer.

"So, uh... why do you look so causious all the time? We're not in any danger here." He asked her, avoiding her eyes.

"There are dangers you could never comprehend." She whispered. Amadi shot her a look of questions.

"Huh? What did you say?" He asked her, having been unableto hear her clearly.

"I said that I dont feel comfortable here. That's all." She kept her eyes focused on Pride Rock. That was the only place in this world that she would be safe.

"Why not?" He pressed. "We're all very nice here. And it's safe and warm. I'll bet it's one of the best places on the planet!" He said, looking up into the sky.

"I just don't. Now will you get off my back?" She asked him, making him turn to look her in the eye. Then, for the first time, he actually payed attention to her eyes. They were hard, cold, lifeless. They never changed from a cold stare that could rip through anyone's sole, and never showed her story. He was unable to break away from her trance. She was the one who finally turned away, knowing that she got her message through.

Amadi's eyes were much different. Hatari saw his whole life story. Just a fun loving cub who couldn't wait to become a king and make his father proud. He had this life about him which made Hatari question her own heart. A life that she couldn't quite place a name on.

Amadi wondered what kind of lion lay behind her wall of defenses. Before he knew it, they were back at Pride Rock. He looked back at Hatari to see her already heading for her cave. Instead of chasing after her, he decided to call in a day, and made his way to the den for some sleep.

(I'm sorry that was way to short. I'm just so busy lately! sorry!)

Chapter 7:

Hatari woke the next day with a start. Nightmare's had haunted her entire night, and she had gotten very little sleep. She yawned, stood, and walked over to the mouth of the cave. It was getting colder. A cool breeze swept in, sending a shiver down her spine. The cave was very cold the night before, and she was starting to wonder what she was going to do if it got colder. Hatari walked outside and out towards the water hole for some water. She then heard laughing. She crouched and made her way towards some long grass. She looked through a few blades and saw Amadi, Kovu, and Kiara. They were playing in the grass, Amadi pouncing on his parents and them tickling him in return. Hatari felt something shatter inside her as she watched them. The perfect family. A place they could call their own. Warmth and food, and most of all... love. Something she saw only from her parents. Something that was neglected to her from everyone else. Love. Every cub harassed her, every adult tried to get their children to avoid her, and in the end she was always alone. She cried and nobody heard her, she broke and nobody helped her. Because nobody knew. Not even her parents. She never told them. And she regretted it every second of every day.

Amadi heard a rustle in the grass nearby. He quickly glanced in that direction, and thought he caught a glimpse of a cub running away. He quickly went back to his game with his parents, deciding to dwell on it later.

Hatari and Amadi remained apart all day. They never once talked. That evening, it was getting very cold. Everyone was heading inside for warmth and sleep. Hatari, being to cold to stand it any longer, carefully made her way towards the den. She soon found Kovu and Kiara. They smiled as soon as she saw her.

"I hope it's not to much trouble, but it's so cold... can I maybe stay in the den for the night?" She looked up at them and saw nothing but huge smiles.

"What's ours is yours." Kiara said, leading her inside. She settled into a corner as some of the members of the Pride stole glances as her until Kiara told them to knock it off. Then, Amadi came. He walked up to Hatari with a smile.

"Glad you had brains enough to come in here for the night." He said. Hatari closed her eyes with no other reactions. Amadi walked away as Hatari slowly drifted to sleep.

(Sorry it's so short, writers block...)

Okay, I couldn't help it, I have to continue this!!!!! :O I know it's been forever, but what the heck. :P I know some of the chapters have been very short, so I will try to make these next ones longer.

Chapter 8:

When Hatari awoke the next morning, she didn't see any of the Pride members. She realized that everyone must have already woken up, so she stood and walked out of the main den. The lionesses were all lounging in the morning sun, laughing and telling stories. She watched for a while, letting her mind drift. At first, she thought of her parents, but quickly pushed it aside. She instead though of the Pride Lands, and eventually, her mind came to focus on Amadi. There was something about him that she couldn't place a name on. It troubled her. 'Why does he want to be my friend?' She asked herself as she left Pride Rock. 'We're so different... we couldn't be friends... could we?'

As she walked, someone was stalking her. Normally, she would have heard the stalker much sooner, but letting her mind wander let down her defenses. Before she knew it, someone had pounced on her and had pinned her to the ground. She looked strait into Amadi's smiling eyes.

"Okay, you have to admit, I did pretty good that time." They starred at each other for a long few moments. Hatari suppressed a smile.

"Ya ya, you got me that time. Now would you mind getting off of me?" He stepped aside, allowing her to get up. "You were lucky I was to deep in thought to notice you." She commented before continuing down the trail. Amadi caught up to her.

"Ya right, you know I got you fair and square that time, and don't you dare deny it." He resorted with a triumphant smile.

"What do you want, Amadi?" She asked.

"What do you think? I'm bored out of my mind!" He whined. "There aren't n other cubs in the pride, I need someone to do something with."

"If you think I'm gonna to play tag with you..." Hatari began. Amadi quickly interrupted her.

"No no, I want you to meet a friend of mine! Trust me, it won't take long." Hatari stopped to face him. After a few moments, she sighed.

"Lead the way." Amadi's smile grew as he led her down a path in the opposite direction that she was traveling.
