Reflections Of Love
It had been over a week since the marriage of Simba and Nala. It was evening, and the pride had just finished off a meal of Cape buffalo. Now, Simba and Nala were relaxing atop Pride Rock. As always, Simba was simply stunned by just how beautiful Nala had become. When they were adolescents, her beauty had fired his senses and caused him to become smitten. At that time, they were a far cry from the cubs who thought the idea of being married was disgusting. Now, Simba began to mentally reflect on the love of his life:
A cub who came from a rogue
A rogue’s daughter who grew into a beauty
A beauty who became a fierce huntress
A fierce huntress who caught the eye of a prince
A fierce huntress who became a princess
A princess who will one day be queen
Simba never took his eyes off of Nala for the longest moment. Nala caught wind of this and began her own mental reflection:
A cub born of royalty
A royal cub who grew into a mighty and handsome lion
A mighty lion who became the love of my life
The love of my life who will always love me
My love
My future king
Nala admired Simba’s handsome features. His golden fur shone in the sunlight, and his flowing red mane made him appear kingly and majestic. Simba was thinking much the same about her. Nala’s sapphire eyes shone with a dazzling gleam, and her fur was so beautiful and so soft, and it seemed to always have the smell of flowers hanging about it. Suddenly, both lions realized what the other was doing. Nala smiled flirtatiously.
“Can you feel the love tonight?” she asked.
Simba smiled, his handsome smile coming to his face.
“Oh yes,” he said.
Nala licked him, and then began to move away, her tail tuft brushing against Simba’s nose as she moved past.
“Come, Simba. Let’s go see what the others are doing,” she said.
Simba needed no further invitation. Truly, his heart was beating in time with hers.
