A Whole New World (Songfic)

Ok, here's another RP-based songfic, this one inspired by "Aladdin". Once again, it is dedicated to my RP castmates. In this instance, "whole new world" refers to their new life together. No bashing or flaming of any sort, please.

A Whole New World

It was a big day for the pride. Scar was dead, Zira was on the run, and the hyenas had fled. Now, even with the memories of the huge battle still fresh in everyone’s mind, the pride gathered around for the marriage of Simba and Nala. At the moment, Simba was more nervous than he had ever been. Mufasa came to him.

“Do not be nervous, my son. Today is a happy day,” he said.

Simba took a deep breath as Rafiki arrived to perform the ceremony and everyone got into position. It was then that Nala emerged from the den, a blue flower tucked behind her ear. She looked so beautiful.

"Wow..." he said to himself.

Sarafina, who had just been helping Nala to get ready, took a seat by Shujaa and Mheetu. Now, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Rafiki looked at the pride and the assembled throng of animals.

“Creatures of de Pridelands, we are gathered here today to witness de union of Prince Simba to de lovely Nala,” he began.

He then looked at Simba.

“Simba, do you take Nala to be your bride?" the mandrill asked.

“I do,” Simba replied proudly.

Rafiki then looked at Nala.

"Nala, do you take Simba to be your husband?" he asked.

“I do,” Nala replied proudly.

To signify that the ceremony was complete and a new chapter of the life of the pride had begun, he shook the fruits attached to his staff over their heads, and then looked at the crowd.

"Then so be it. As of this day, Simba and Nala are mates, and Nala is a princess of de Pridelands. May their marriage be eternally blessed!" Rafiki exclaimed.

The pride roared out in celebration, and the animals around them all cheered. Simba looked at his new bride.

"Welcome to the royal family, Princess," he said with a smile.

Nala looked at him, returning the smile.

“Thank you, my handsome prince,” she said.

And so, for the rest of the night, the Pridelands celebrated. The next night, Simba and Nala found themselves at the top of Pride Rock, admiring the beautiful night, but admiring each other more. Inspired by Nala’s beauty, equally beautiful words came to Simba’s mind as he looked into her eyes:

Simba:

I can show you the world

Lush, verdant, splendid

Tell me, princess, now when did you

Last let your heart decide?

[Simba begins to move towards the ramp leading to the den entrance]

I can open your eyes

Take you wonder by wonder

Down and down some more

On a little savannah jaunt

[They come to the den entrance and head for the ramp leading to the savannah floor]

A whole new world

A new, fantastic point of view

No one to tell us no

Or where to go

Or say we’re only dreaming

[The beautiful words begin to flow through Nala’s mind]

Nala:

A whole new world

A dazzling place I never knew

But when I'm way up here

It's crystal clear

That now I'm in a whole new world with you

Simba:

Now I'm in a whole new world with you!

[Simba and Nala are now running side-by-side across the savannah. Suddenly, Nala turns and pounces Simba. The two begin play-wrestling.]

Nala:

Unbelievable sights

Indescribable feeling

Pouncing, tumbling, rolling

Beneath an endless diamond sky

[They continue running]

Nala:

A whole new world!

Simba:

Don’t you dare close your eyes!

Nala:

A hundred thousand things to see

Simba:

Hold your breath, it gets better!

Nala:

I'm like a shooting star

I've come so far

I can't go back to where I used to be

[The two arrive at the waterhole, where they resume their pouncing games]

Simba:

A whole new world!

Nala:

Every turn a surprise


Simba:

With new horizons to pursue

Nala:

Every moment, red letter

Simba and Nala:

I'll chase them anywhere

There's time to spare

Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world

That's where we'll be

Simba:

A thrilling chase

Nala:

A wondrous place

Simba and Nala:

For you and me


After their jaunt, the two lions were exhausted. They then returned to Pride Rock.
