Luminarium's Guardian: Mwisho's Story

Luminarium's Guardian: Mwisho's Story

Postby Jiirani » December 30th, 2010, 3:26 pm

Hey everyone 8D This is my first fanfic type thing, so forgive me if it's awful x3 It takes place when Simba is in the Jungle, before we see him as a teen in TLK 1/2. His mane is only just beginning to form x3 Anyway, I've never posted anything like this or wrote a TLK type of fanfiction before, so wish me luck lolz. Pumbaa isn't in chapter one, sorry guys D8

~Chapter One~
Spoiler: show
A small, tan pelted lion cub sat in the entrance to a cave. His mismatched eyes shone in the shadows - one red, one blue - as he scanned the area, a bored look rested on his face. He sat up, stretching and yawning. He had been observing for ages now, and nothing had happened. He was beginning to doubt his presence was even needed here. No-one dared to come this far into the jungle, through the dense undergrowth, and those who tried barely ever made it through, the cub knew that all too well. It was then that his ears twitched and he heard a voice... No, not just one, but two... He looked around, and not seeing anything from his position, leaped onto a stone slab that was raised just enough for him to see over the bushes, and whatever was coming his way... It was a lion cub, and a... meerkat. The cub scowled, recognizing the creature, but not the cub, and lay down. He wasn't a fan of eavesdropping, but he was here to protect Luminarium after all. Plus, if anyone went in, there would surely get lost in the passages that made up the labyrinth, and probably die. Only those that new the presice way could survive in there. Even he got lost sometimes... And he was curious, of course.

"Listen kid," The meerkat started, following the larger animal as best he could over the large tree roots, rocks and other jungle objects, "I'm not so sure about this... I've never been this far into the jungle before.." He said, pulling himself up onto a tree root. The golden lion cub looked back at his furry companion.

"What, are you scared? There's nothing out here to hurt us." He chuckled, his hazel eyes dancing gleefully. "Plus, I'm the biggest thing out here, and I wanna explore." The cub laughed, climbing forward once more.

"Oh, there are bigger things out here Simba, you just haven't seen them yet!" The meerkat called after the cub, his voice becoming a bit higher as he began to get a bit more anxious, and staying where he was.

"Like what?" The cub called back, as he found a gap in some of the ferns, unaware of how close he was to the other lion cub, who was listening to this, amusement tugging at his lips, but he had to keep a straight face, or he wouldn't be able to scare these intruders off.

"Simba, I don't think you should go through there!" The meerkat called. It was then that he spotted the tan cub upon the rock slab through the ferns. Timon's eyes widened, and he chased after Simba. The cub could have back up, and Simba wouldn't stand a chance.
"Simba! Come back!" He yelled, but the cub was already through the ferns, his eyes lingered on the cave, but movement from nearby caught his eye as the cub, who was roughly his age, maybe a little older, rose to his paws and leaped down from the rock, landing a few feet away from the golden cub, and directly in front of the dark cave...

"Simba..." Timon said, bursting through the ferns at last, and spotting the two cubs locked in some form of staring contest. Simba bore a startled and confused look, while the stranger had a firm scowl, and didn't look friendly at all.

Both cubs where broken from their gaze when the meerkat spoke, and Simba turned to look at his friend, confused.

"There are other lions in the jungle? How come you never said so?" He asked the smaller animal, who was stuck for words and replied after a bit of thought, but was still unsure what to say... "Well.... Erm... I... You never asked?"

The strange tan cub sighed, becoming bored quickly. He spoke for the first time, his voice was high, as he was still young, but he spoke with a sharp edge to his voice.
"Yes, there are Lions in the jungle, just not very many of them. I'm surprised you haven't met any of them yet. My best guess is this... Friend... Of yours has been keeping us away from you. Where's you're fat pal, Timon?"

Timon, feeling slightly more brave, but quite intimidated too, tried to defend himself. "Well, I wasn't keeping him away from you, I was keeping him away from the awful lives you lead! You turn him into one of your own!" He said, in a relatively high voice, he obviously hadn't expected the cub to recognize him, it had been a long time. Simba looked even more confused now, and stood directly in front of his friend.

"I don't know who you think you are, but leave him alone! What did he do to you anyway?" Simba demanded, "And if Timon and Pumbaa kept me away from you, I can see why!"
The cub straightened up, his red eye baring into Simba, the blue one was hidden by a dark mane tuft that sat upon the cubs head.

"Don't question those that you don't know. My name is Mwisho. I'm only here to protect the cave, so if you stay away from it, then I won't bother you again." He stated, sizing up the younger cub. He looked strong. Mwisho had never seen him before, and was almost curious enough to ask him where he was from. Almost.

"I won't be back then, and just so you know, my name is Simba, Mwisho." The golden prince stated, and he turned his back on the cub and began to walk away. Timon glared at the cub, but ran to Simba when the cub jolted forward in a joking manner.

Mwisho was about to leap back on the rock when he realized something. He turned to the golden lion cub, and called out to him.
"Hey, Simba! Can I ask you something?"

The cub stopped and turned his head toward the other cub, raising an eyebrow. He thought they were finished talking... for now, anyway. "What?"

Mwisho faltered for a second, unsure if he should say what he was about too. But the question would haunt him for answers unless he did so. Taking a breath, he studied the cub, from his light toes to the small mane tuft starting to form on his cranium, and then asked a question that Simba was hoping he wouldn't.
"Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't 'Simba' the name of the crown Prince of the Pridelands? You wouldn't happen to be that Simba, would you?"

Simba flinched, but Timon didn't notice this and scoffed. "Him? Prince? Never. You've got the wrong cub, buddy!" He laughed, heading toward the ferns. Simba looked back at Mwisho, who was up on the ledge now, looking down at him curiously.

"No, you're wrong. I'm no Prince." Mwisho nodded, but didn't really believe him from the reaction he had given, and watched him leave, following his meerkat friend. The tan cub couldn't get the flinch and the defensive tone Simba took when he asked if he was prince out of his head. He probably was, and the Pridelands probably needed him right now... Then again, he would be too young to help them anyway...

Mwisho sighed, and took guard once again, silently wishing Simba had stuck around, Mwisho hadn't had company that was his age in a long time...

Chapter two : To be written =(

P.S An attatchment has been added with a piccy of what Mwisho looks like x3 It's very bad, just so you know xD; Ignore his massive tail in that pic, he's 100% lion in this story x3 and 'Bonecruncher' is my nickname of sorts x3

You have to continue this story, it's very good. I like stories about Simba's exile and how his life was before Nala showing up. I like Mwisho's design.
