Kovu padded silently into the den which was well hidden inside of Pride Rock. Moving only his head he looked around and in the moon light he could clearly see the siluets of each sleeping lioness, cub and lion. Int the very centar lie Kiara flat out on her side with Shuja their now nearly grown up cub. Kovu lied down on her other side and pressed himself against Kiara. He listend carfully and could hear her steady breathing as she slept. Slowly he closed his eyes and began to fall asleep, his dreams taking him to far off lands.
Sudenly Kovu woke up as the sun's warm rays shone through the den entrence. With a long yawn he streched first his front legs then his back legs. He turned his head to see Kiara and Shuja still sound asleep. He noticed Shuja's legs were kicking and his claws were un-sheithed, Kovu guessed he was hunting in his dreams. For a while he just lied there and watched Shuja with a musment. He was truely proud of his song and he knew as he grew to be neirly his own size that Shuja would make a fine king one day.
Once the other lionesses began to wake Kovu stood up and left the den. Stopping just at the edge of Pride Rock Kovu looked over all his land standing tall and proud. In the light breeze which blew from the west Kovu's dark mane apeared to move as if it were ripples in the water. Kiara was now standind on his left and right behind him he could hear Shuja slowly padding up to his right side. Kovu let out a mightly roar so loud Pride Rock itself seemed to shake. Now Kiara joined in and Kovu turned to his right and nodded his head at Shuja. Again they roared and this time Shuja to joined in and it felt as if the world had gone silent to hear them.
As the day wore on Kovu found himself with nothing to do. Today the kingdome was peacfull and the lionesses had plenty of food for their hunt had been sucessful. When he made sure for the third time that day that there were no threats insight Kovu disapeared behind Pride Rock to see Kiara.
She was lying down against Pride Rock with her head hidden between her two front paws. When she lifted her head to see Kovu aproching he could tell she had been crying for her beautiful red-ish coloured eyes seemed redder and tired, on her cheek he could see the sparkle of a lone tear running down to her chin.
