Vitani's Story

Simba briefly rolled in the dirt to stop his back from bleeding where Zira had bitten and clawed him. He looked at Nala. "Remember, we say nothing about Zira or the Outlanders to her for the time being," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

Nala nodded, gazing at the cub, who was now fast asleep. "I could go hunting if you want." she offered. "You could take care of her while I'm gone."

Simba nodded. "Take care, Nala," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

"Will do." Nala replied, nuzzling Simba before grabbing Vitani by her scruff and setting her next to Simba. "I'll be back before you no it." Without another word, she turned tail and ran off in search of some prey. Vitani, half-asleep, walked into the den and lay down in the spot where she used to sleep with her mother.

Simba made his way over to where Vitani was and laid down next to her. "I'll try to be a good substitute father to you," he whispered so that he wouldn't wake her up.

[Queen Elsa]

Vitani nuzzled next to her adopted father, slowly drifting back into sleep. She didn't see anything wrong with Simba, and she wondered why Marini, Zira, and Nuka were so against him being king.

Meanwhile, Nala went back into the jungle where she found Simba. She spotted a zebra walking around, and slowly stalked it. At the right moment, she sprang and killed the young animal the blood of it dripping into her mouth. She resisted the urge to eat it all the way back to Priderock, so that her new adopted daughter wouldn't go hungry. After walking for awhile with the heavy animal on her back, she finally reached Priderock and walked into the den, setting the zebra next to Simba.

Simba smiled as Nala arrived. "She's been asleep like this for awhile," he said, indicating Vitani.

[Queen Elsa]

Nala looked down to see Vitani sleeping right next to Simba. "That's adorable." Nala replied. "It makes me want to have our own cubs."

Simba smiled. "Well, you know, there's nothing stopping us from doing so, Nala. In fact, it's expected of us sometime in the future," he said, remembering what one of the lionesses had told him.

[Queen Elsa]

"I know. So that it may be the heir and take the throne at the appointed time." Nala replied. "But Simba, what if I never have cubs? Will Vitani have to become the queen, even though she's not ours?"
