The Rising Tides: Story of the Fallen Rouge (Arani, AdAstra)

Postby Arani » February 8th, 2012, 11:40 pm

RP between me and AdAstra.

This is an RP about a young cub, Hatari, who's rouge parents are killed by humans. She finds her way to the Pride Lands, where she is taken in by the pride as she tries to find a way to fit in. Amadi, Kovu and Kiara's son, is the other really main character who helps Hatari through her time in the Pride Lands.

Characters:

Hatari - Arani

Kovu - AdAstra

Kiara - Arani

Amadi - AdAstra

Other OC's - TBD

----------------------------------------------------

"Mom? Dad? Wake up... wake up!!!" Hatari screamed into the night over the rain that was pounding on the ground. Her voice was instantly lost to the howling wind and the pouring rain. Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she nudged the bodies of her parents, who were alive and well one minute, and the next were laying in front of Hatari, cold and lifeless. What happened? All she heard were two loud bangs, and when she turned again, her parents were dead. How? And why? She tried once more to wake them, but it was no use. She backed away from the corpses. The rain had become harder now. Her fur, though it was short, was clinging tightly to her body. She was soaked through, and was shivering from the cold. Suddenly, as if the devils had come to take her away as well, something sharp hit her in the rear end. She turned to see weird creatures walking towards her. They had pale skin with no fur, and they were wearing funny looking things that covered most of their bodies. One was holding a long black stick with a hole at the end. Her vision started to blur, and then suddenly, she was fast asleep...

Hatari slowly awoke to an afternoon sun. She lifted her head. She was very dizzy, and it took her a minute to see strait. "Where am I? What did those creatures do to me?" She looked around. She had never been her before, she knew that much. As she was beginning to stand, she heard voices coming towards her. She quickly ducked for cover in a small hole in the ground.

"Amadi!"
Kovu started running faster to catch up with his son, who was already far away, "Amadi, slow down, didn't I tell you to be careful?"
The cub stopped quite abrubtly and turned around, grinning mischievously at his father. "Sorry dad!" he said, "I was trying to catch a bird!"
Kovu couldn't help but smile, gazing at his son who reminded him so much of himself it was almost scary. Although he had inherited many things from his mother as well, the resemblance was still striking both in appearance and in personality. "Should've guessed, you little monkey." he chuckled, giving Amadi a gentle nuzzle as they reunited. "But couldn't you at least try to do what I tell you at least sometimes? We're quite far away from Pride Rock now, and you never know what's gonna happen out here if you're not careful."
"But there's nothing dangerous out here, dad!"
Kovu sighed. "No, right now there isn't. But you always have to be careful, just in case. Do you understand?"
Amadi nodded. "Yes, I do." he said impatiently, looking around, "Can we practice pouncing now? Please?"
"Ok."
"Yay! Oh look dad, there's a butterfly over there!" he exclaimed happily, "Ok, I'm gonna sneak up on it...." Staying low to the ground, Amadi prepared to make a move. Lunging forward with what he believed to be a huge roar, he missed the unsuspecting creature ever so slightly. "Oh no! Now where did you go..." he said to himself, wandering further away from his father until he suddenly stopped. Something on the ground had caught his attention. As he carefully moved closer, he realised that it was a lion cub, roughly about the same age as him.
"Hello!" he said brightly, "Who are you?"

Hatari gazed across the landscape, trying to locate the voices. Soon, a cub came into her view. There was an adult male not far behind. She ducked down a little more, hoping she wouldn't be spotted. The cub looked very excited. She heard the word 'Pouncing' and realized that the adult was the cubs father, and they were out for pouncing lessons. Hatari watched as the cub went after a butterfly and failed, letting out a cub-like roar in the process. She suppressed the urge to laugh. Before she knew it, he had come way to close. After a moment, he said "Hello!"
Hatari gasped and backed up, realizing the cub had spotted her. Ears down, tail between her legs, she continued to slowly back away. "I... I'm sorry. I'm in your land, aren't I? I'm going now. I'll be out of your fur before you know it." She soon ran into a prickly bush, making it impossible to back up as the cub, who was around her age, came towards her.

"Well." Amadi began cautiously, noticing that the cub was frightened and insecure, "I don't mind you being in our land. Not at all! And I don't think my dad will either. I'm sure he'll let you stay! Why are you here, anyway?" he added curiously, watching her, "Where did ya come from?"

Hatari hesitated, cautious of what she should tell this cub and what she should not. "I'm from Lions Lake. I was brought here by strange creatures with no fur and black sticks. I don't know where I am or what is going on but I can't just intrude like this. I'm sorry."

"No fur? Black sticks?" Amadi said, raising his eyebrows, "Wow, are you sure? That sounds freaky! I've never seen an animal like that, and believe me, I've seen a lot of weird...."
"Amadi!"
It was Kovu, approaching them from behind. "Amadi, what's going on? Who are you talking to? Oh..." he added, stopping quite abrubtly at the sight of the female cub. "And who are you?" he asked kindly.

Hatari jumped at the suddenness of Kovu's voice. She dropped lower to the ground as he approached. "Ha.... Hatari." She said. "I'm lost. Where am I?" She asked him.

"Hello Hatari." Kovu said, "You're in a place which we call the Pridelands, have you heard about it before? I'm Kovu, and this is my son Amadi." he added, assuming that Amadi hadn't already told her this.

Hatari's eyes widened a little. The Pride Lands? Those monsters had dropped her off in the Pride Lands? "Yes... Yes, I've heard of the Pride Lands. My Mama and Papa told me stories about this place. " She said quietly. She should count herself lucky that she had been dropped in the Pride Lands.

"She's from Lion's Lake." Amadi said, keen to enter the conversation somehow, "She told me. Do you know where that is, daddy?" he added, gazing up at Kovu.
"Yes, I know where that is." the king said after a few moments, "I've been there once. But it's far away from here. About a two days walk." He added, glancing at Hatari. "Are your parents here as well?" he asked cautiously.
