Vahvuus dug his sharp teeth into his freshly killed Zebra and then quickly yanked his head away, ripping a chunk of meat out of its hind leg. Vah chewed on it for a minute and then swallowed. He closed his eyes and yawned, stretching his legs and back. He was very tired after his recent hunt. Even more so than usual, as it had taken Vah longer than he had expected to catch something, but then again, it was never easy to catch a Zebra on your own and he didn't always manage to catch something when he wanted to. That was just tough luck, though, and Vah had learnt enough to deal with it. It was hard being a rogue at times, but it wasn't like he really had any choice in what he could do. Besides, Vah enjoyed the solitude most of the time and he enjoyed the peace and quiet of being a rogue.
Van shook his head and sighed tiredly and continued to eat the Zebra. He only took a couple more bites out of the Zebra before he stopped, not really feeling as if he could eat anymore. He didn't have a big appetite Anyway. Vah slowly stood up, albeit at the protest of the muscles in his legs, and walked outside of the large cave he lived in. It was relatively late at night, and Vah knew he needed to sleep soon, but he just wasn't able to yet. Why he couldn't, he would never know, but maybe a short walk would increase his weariness enough so he could just shut his eyes and fall asleep. Vah felt a little cold as he stepped outside, but he didn't really mind. The cold might make him more tired, which was what he wanted.
After only a few seconds of walking, something very strange caught his eye. At first, Vah thought it was just his mind playing tricks on him, what with him being quite tired and all. He came close to just ignoring whatever it was he just saw, but his curiosity got the better of him and he made his way over to the object lying motionless on the floor. On closer inspection, though, this was not just an 'object' but a young lioness. This shocked Vah, as he hadn't seen another of his kind in years, but now...now he had found one lying helpless on the ground. Probably passed out, or even dead. The rising and falling of the lioness' chest, however, dispelled the dear of her being dead and a wave of relief flowed through Vah.
Vah knew he should probably help, but years of being a rogue had come to make him very cautious around others. He shook his head and didn't even bother thinking about his instincts. Slowly, Vah walked next to the lioness and crouched down, able to heft her onto his back, despite being tired. He was determined not to let this lioness die. It would be immoral to leave her to die and she looked like she had been through a lot of tragedy recently. The least he could do was to give her a place to stay for a while and to let her recover.
It took Vah a long time to reach his den with the lioness on his back, but he was surprised he had even made it back and not dropped down dead. He was absolutely drained by the time he got inside, but he felt better than any other time of his life when he eventually lay the lioness on the floor. Vah thought it would be best to give her some room because it isn't everyday that you wake up somewhere you don't remember being. Van sighed and turned from the lioness, trudging over to the other side of the cave before simply dropping to the floor and going to sleep immediately after.
