She sniffled, nuzzling his fur. "He's likely either at his tree or at Priderock, due to the story telling going on…"

"You can still see, right? At least you got your sight. We'll have to avoid them or kill them one day. I wonder why did my father's patrol lioness fail to spot them? Now to find that Rafiki dude..." Kion said, heading towards another section in the caves.

"I can't be certain of the other at the moment but my right eye sight seems fine, besides a little blurry." Mlezi answered, "Er… as for the secondary question, I've actually been in the Pridelands longer. Hiding from lions and such partly by masking my scent with other scents. Mud, dirt, flowers… Maybe they did similar?"

"I really hate to admit that our lions could not have detected them. They probably threw off our scent..Yes, you're right. "Kion huffed before he set her down on a stone table at Rafiki's den. He couldn't find the monkey in sight, so he just sat beside her, holding her paw. "Rafiki will come soon, and this will be over. You will be fine as the old baboon would use his magic."

Tama went over to Simba, shaking her head as the group went towards the lion guard caves. She paused slowly and in between tears, choking on her words. She wondered why did Kion did not stop them but let them into the secret lair.

"Kula, along with most of her family members were all murdered and her entire pride was destroyed. Wait, actually alot of them, but not all. The empire collapsed, and now that land is covered in a blood bath. But most importantly, your son is letting that weirdo in. I do not know what to say!"

"What?!" Simba asked and shocked. But... How? How could that happen? Who attacked them?"

Nala put a paw on Simba's. She wiped her tears away before beginning her answer.

"I know this goes against our nature and the way of life. But I can't help worrying that this might be a sign of worst things to come. Why would your father lead Mlezi here? There could be some deeper secret we do not know. There is something fishy going on, Simba. Therefore, we must see how the situation develop. We have to watch for her, even through she is our enemy's child. But we do not take this kindness for weakness. If she does something truly evil, then cast her out by all means."

"My father? Do you really think that my father sent her? No, Nala, this can't be true. Why would he send the daughter of his killer? Why her? Why not anyone else? Simba paused for a little. "Where the cubs? Don't you think we should check them?"

"What?!" Simba asked and shocked. But... How? How could that happen? Who attacked them?"

"For starters, there were quite a few factors from betrayal, a weakened army and the death of the previous Empress, Sade II. Emperor Idir and the remants of the army fled after the capital fell. Kula was killed protecting the cubs and her head looped off. Simba! I picked up her head and and---it was terrible. The one who attacked them was 'Otieno The Terrible'. He came from another branch of the family and had a strong hatred towards the family. Otieno is a brutal & deraged warlord and well known for mass killings. The old ways. He never respects any former treaties. The worst thing is, he might set his sights on here..." Tama said, hanging her head.

"My father? Do you really think that my father sent her? No, Nala, this can't be true. Why would he send the daughter of his killer? Why her? Why not anyone else? Simba paused for a little. "Where the cubs? Don't you think we should check them?"

"I admit I do not know. We will need to speak to this Mlezi more. The cubs are at Rafiki's den. But Rafiki's away on a field trip."
Nala frowned, looking at Rafiki's lair before going there. "Come, Tama & Simba. Let's visit our son. Maybe they tell you the answers you seek."

Mlezi moaned due to the pain, "How's your head feeling anyways? I mean, I know my injuries are probably more critical at the moment but… That still was a bad hit into the rock" She accepted his paw, "…Hope they get here sooner. It's already starting to get dark."

"It still hurts. Like a tide washing against me." Kion said, clutching his head.

"They won't be here anytime soon." said another voice as the swishing of liquids could be heard. "Rafiki seem to be away and I, know medicine. Let me take a look." Idir approached with a bowl in his mouth, setting it besides Mlezi. "Tell me what happened, Mlezi? And Kion, please wait. I got another medicine."

Mlezi's tail flicked as she tried to get a little more comfortable, "Has your dad told you anything more about your great uncle?" She needed to distract herself from both the pain and the current silence. Still she kept her left paw over her left side of her face.

Mlezi found herself being more nervous than before on hearing some lions of the Pride approach the den.
She recognized the voice of the cub, Idir who happened to be the first.
"Attacked… Shadow Council… Waterhole..." Mlezi managed answer him. "Enforcer…"

"Yes he did, he say that Scar deserved what's coming for him in the end. But other than that, not much." Kion admitted as he lean his head on her paws. "What's more to say about a murderer?"

"Huh? The Shadow Council? I thought I disbanded them when I became Emperor? Why would they come here?" Idir mixed some fruits and liquids into a soft paste before placing the cooling mix over her eyes. He then proceed to put the same healing paste on her legs. "This is a special oilment I learnt from my teacher. Your leg seems to be toasted. You can't hunt for a while, Mlezi."
