Kali did not bother to hide her relief when Marini erased her fears, releasing a long sigh. "That's good..." she said, before turning the focus back onto far less awkward matters. "You said the two of you have been together for over four months...wow." She then looked right into Marini's blue eyes, which Kali noticed bore a startling resemblance to Tanga's deep blue orbs. "Tell me, if it's not too much trouble...just how do you feel about my son?"

Marini wasn't sure about how to explain her feelings for Tanga to his mother, it felt kind of wierd. "He... ah..." she said, nervously flicking her tail around as she did, "I love him... alot. And... ah... I don't think that anyone would ever be able to replace him. she finsihed, feeling like she couldnt find a more honest way to tell Kali how she felt

Kali smiled at Marini's nervous answer. "Those words prove, to me, that you are honest, and I for one think you and Tanga are perfect together. Sorry if this has been awkward, but I'm afraid my curiosity got the best of me...I wanted to see if I could figure out what Tanga sees in you, and I can safely say that, while I can't understand all of his motives, that I see at least some of what he sees. You are a wonderful young lioness, and I feel like you have a bright future ahead of you."

Kali then looked up, towards where the others were, noting that Sarabi and Uhuru seemed to be just relaxing, and smiled when she saw Tanga walking up towards the two, obviously having finished his run. "Well, speak of the devil, Tanga's back," she said, pretending to be distracted by Tanga's arrival, while she actually watched Marini out of the corner of her eye, wanting to see how she reacted, now that her boyfriend was back.

Marini simled at Kali's words as her nervousness left her. She wandered whether by 'a bright future' she was talking about her, or both her and Tanga, but she decided to consider it for both options.

Noticing Tanga come back, Marini wanted to let her excitement out and run to greet im, but she felt that doing so would make her look quiet stupid. But without saying anything else to Kali and noticing she was not lookng, she began happily hopping back towards where Uhuru and Sarabi were, since Tanga obivously hadn't seen her yet, so he was probably heading towards them

Kali smiled as Marini hopped off, although she could tell she was reigning in her excitement. Sighing happily, she followed Marini back towards the others, deciding that once Tanga had greeted everyone that she could check his wounds, and see if they were ready to begin their training.

Tanga was breathing heavily as he made his way over to where he could see Sarabi and Uhuru. He had managed to jog the three and a half laps he had aimed, and even managed a little more than that, before walking the remainder of the fourth lap. As such, most of the exhaustion had passed, and while he was still a little tired he knew that, if they planned on starting their training, he would be ready to go in a short time. "Morning Uhuru, Sarabi," he called, smiling at them.

Before anything else happened, though, he spotted movement out of the corner of his eye, and noticed Marini and Kali coming his way as well. his smile widened into a grin as he raised his paw. "Hey mum, Rini!" He wanted to go over and hug Marini right there and then, but his limbs were still a little stiff and sore after the run, so he settled for simply grinning at his girlfriend happily.

Marini expected Tanga to come over to her, but could see on his body language that he was still tired from his run, so she walked over to him instead, sitting herself down next to him like she always did, smiling at him as she settled her head on his shoulder as always. "How did you do?" she asked, since she did her runs in the afternoon, ad never discussed Tanga about the runs he did in the mornings, she felt like knowing how much he had improved in the past week

Tanga smiled as Marini settled beside him, as he put his head on top of hers. "I'm getting a lot better...a few more days and I think I'll be able to jog for four laps straight."

"What about you?" he asked. "How have you been going with your runs?" He too, was curious as to how Marini had improved, as well. He was also curious as to what she had been doing with Kali just now, just decided it was between the two of them, and left it unspoken.

Marini smiled at Tanga's improvement, "Well unlike you I prefer not to jog. First I got two laps done, and since then I try a faster pace everytime. I think I also improved alot." she said, wandering whether their trainin wold start today or not

Tanga smiled, before Kali came up to him. "Tanga, if you don't mind, I'd like to check your wounds, to see how you're recovering," she requested, Tanga nodding as he moved away from Marini reluctantly, not noticing the smile on Kali's face that was aimed at Marini as he lay down on his side, giving her access to all his wounds.

Turning her attention to her son, Kali started with his severed ear, running a paw lightly over it, noting that Tanga instinctively winced and flicked his ear at the contact. "Your ear has not quite healed yet, but then it was among the worst of your injuries. But it will not grow back, Tanga, that I can guarantee." She heard Tanga sigh in resignation, but otherwise did not react as Kali moved to his cheeks, surprised to note that the scratches that had once been there were healed completely, barely any sign left that he had dever been injured...it was not even scarring. "Your cheek, on the other hand, is fine, no scarring or anything."

But then she moved on to his chest, and her muzzle contorted as she looked at the remains of the wounds there. While the wounds had mostly healed, they were leaving behind what were going to be some large scars. "Your chest is going to have scars, but it's healed well, otherwise...and your leg is fine, like your cheek."

Nodding to let Tanga know she was done, the black-maned adolescent returned to sitting position, slipping back to Marini's side as Kali considered what she had seen. The wounds were not completely healed, particularly on his ear and chest...but they had closed off completely, and should not pose any trouble for her son any longer.

Turning to Sarabi, she gave the older lioness a small smile. "If it's not too much trouble, you can go and fetch Simba and Nala...Tanga's finally ready to begin," she said, before turning her gaze to Tanga and Marini, to see how they reacted to the news.

Marini looked at Tanga as he moved away from her, and lay dow for Kali to check on his wounds. She wanted to see if he was healed enough, and did not notice Kali's smile as well.

She sighed at Kali's mention of his ear, which will never grow back to it's full size. As much as Tanga told her to stop blaming herself, she would always remember that what happend was her fault eventually. But she snapped out of those thoughs when Tanga returned to her side, she was happy that he survived, and that's what really mattered.

Marini smield slightly as Kali said that they could begin. As hard as this was going to be, Marini was still eager to see how Kali was going to train them. She turned to Tanga, "Should I go call them? They're still inside. she said, using the word 'still' because she didn't know that Simba and Nala were again awake long before her and already been out of their tunnels
