[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

"Okay," said Kovu warily. He fully trusted his step-father, but he was still nervous. Simba kind of kicked butt, as did his mate. He cautiously lapped up the water, looking around for anyone.

Chaka followed his father as they made their way into the lush green of the Pridelands. Soon he found a trail that led to the waterhole. It was full of animal tracks, the most noticeable were elephant ones. "Hey dad, just wondering.... what would the Pridelands be like if they were under a good king, but that king wasn't even supposed to be one? Because Great-Uncle Scar was bad, for sure." He lagged behind with a thoughtful look.

Simba turned. "Well, Chaka, if he was truly a good ruler and kept the Circle of Life in balance, the lands would look as they do now. If not, they would resemble the Elephant Graveyard or the Outlands," he said.

Chaka was shocked. "That bad? Whoa..." He had thought of little animals around and dry grass, but in this case he would be practically dead. Chaka ran to the side of his father and smiled at Kopa. This was going to be a great day, until he noticed two strange figures near the water on the opposite side.

It was then that Simba noticed the figures and stopped. "You three, wait right here. I'm going to investigate," he said as he began to head towards the figures.

Monstro sat reclined relaxing by the watering hole as Kovu lapped up water, his mustard colored eyes scanned the area waiting. Finally...he has the gait of a King. Monstro perked up and his ears flattened back as the King approach a soft smile he pasted across his muzzle,"Why Hello.." he said in a calm tone. He stood to his paws infront of the King and he looked back at Kovu and winked.

Simba's ears went back. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" he snarled. There was no response. "Get out. These lands belong to me, to my mate, to my cubs and to my sister," he said.

Chaka behind a patch of grass staring at the intruding lion. Then he winced at the sight of how large the male was. Looking back at his siblings he whispered, "this guy is creeping me out, look at his eyes...". Then he looked to where the lion winkked and noticed the brown cub from the Elephant Graveyard. Kovu.. he thought with a pout.

Monstro stepped around Simba for a moment eyeing him up, when he snarled at him a smirk crossed his muzzle. "Well King I was just out walking with my son, when we stumbled into your lands. I was just looking around, thats all. No need to get all nasty." he snapped back before settling by Kovu. He grabbed the cub and put him next to him, "Now Kovu, say hello to the King." he said in a respectable manner. Montro's eyes peeked behind Simba as he noticed some cubs and then he quickly looked back up to Simba. "Your name King, what is it I'll be calling you?" he questioned calmly.

Kiara also noticed Kovu. Her eyes glared at him, then looked up at what looked or seemed like his father. "Guy's look! Kovu is there." She whispered turning her head to look at Kopa and Chaka. Chaka had his eyes already locked on Kovu. The young lioness cub noticed Kovu was scared or worried, she loosened her thoughts on Kovu. He ain't that bad, He's kinda cute. She thought smiling.
