[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

"We love you too," Kopa called, sniffling. He shook his head, trying to regain his composure in front of his siblings. I'm oldest, which means I have to help them, he thought to himself determinedly. But as soon as he opened his mouth to comfort his siblings, the scent of death wafted into his nostrils. He closed his muzzle, fighting back sobs as a new star shone in the sky.

[Songo]

Simba's brown eyes closed for a moment, he took in his father's last words. Exhaling slowly he stepped out of the den and walked to the edge of Pride rock. Opening his muzzle he let forth a mighty roar which seemed to shake the grounds. He watched the animals turn and gather around, "Mufasa is now part of the great circle of life." he said with a heavy heart.

Nala let out a roar of sorrow for the King and she scooped up her cubs. "I love you three. Papa 'fasa was proud of all of you." she whispered. Her blue eyes watched Simba and she could see the pain across her mate's face.

Sarafina let out a roar with the other lionesses and they carried Mufasas body away to the Pridelands, where the circle of life will began. She looked down on the cubs knowing they were hurting aswell. Feeling her bones ache she sighed, her parting with her family would be soon enough.

Diamante's ears twitched at the sound of the roars and she looked to Monstro and Zira. "It seems somebody died.." she spoke out loud.


Monstro looked to Zira, "Who?" he asked curiously.

Kiara's world collapsed. Her Papa was now with his father and mother, looking down at his once family. Tears flowed gently from her blue eyes, digging her face into her mother's arm. Staining her mothers fur with her tears, she looked up with wide eyes. Using her paws to push her mother away, her world started going black. Her heart was crushing, her eyes closed. The princess has fainted from being to overwhelmed.

Folle rushed around trying to catch the flying termites. Whilst running, she tripped over a small rock and it seemed like she flew caught the bug and landed directly on Diamante's head. "S-S-Sorry." he stuttered, jumping off the tall lions head. Folle sat down to apoligize to the seeming-scary lion. "I-I-I'm so sorry! I was just trying to hunt a flying termite. I caught it but I landed on you." She said quickly, scared out of her mind. Holding out her black paws to show the termite laying dead in her grasp.

"Dead? Well, if it's Mufasa, things just got a mite easier." she chuckled. She looked over at the white cub, who was holding a dead termite. "Did you kill that?" she inquired.

[Songo]

Diamante' growled at the white cubs clumsiness. Her green eyes stared down at her, "Just be more careful." she muttered rubbing her head with her paw. Taking note of Folle's white fur she stared, "Where did you come from?" she wondered

Folle smiled. "Yeah I killed it. Easy peasy." She said confused. Her head turned to Diamante, "I'll be more careful next time." She nodded. "Well, I was a sextuplet and my mother disowned me, she said it's because I'm a little messed in the head." She paused frowning. "My brothers and sister's aren't though, it boggles my mind, how she didn't want me, yet she wanted them." She smiled. "-Then I found your Pride! Best Pride ever!" Her two-coloured-eyes widened with her smile.

"Best pride ever, hm? Alright. Kovu! Get yourself acquainted with this poor unfortunate soul. She could be useful. Killing things, you know. Good quality to have. To kill without guilt."
"I can do that! It's no big deal, mom."
"Then, do it. Kill a termite, or many, if you can handle it."
Kovu scoffed and kicked over a termite mound. Tiny termites writhed under the spilled dirt and went still.
"Oh, yes. We will be a great army."

Chaka lay beside his siblings, broken. Sure, Pops 'Fasa was old, but why did it have to be so soon? Why couldn't he live as old as Rafiki? Questions filled his mind until he thought he would collapse. But it wasn't him, it was Kiara who did. His head raised quickly at the sound of Kiara plopping on the ground. He was shocked, she had been overwhelmed in tears it seemed. He got up and realized that Kiara was barely breathing. "K-Kiara? Sis? Dad! Something happened to Kiara! She just--just fell!" Now Chaka was also worried.

Geni walked over to the small group of lions, that were now a pride. She smirked at Zira's expectations. Geni remembered Mufasa from their cubhood, a strong-hearted, trustworthy cub. But now she wondered why most had a grudge against him, especially Simba, who in the world was Simba? Mufasa and Sarabi's child? Her mind was spinning, she had to ask Zira, and remind her who she was to her.

Regina was still unsure about taking the test to deermine her rank in the pride's society. She wasn't strong or fast. She was just a weak, fragile lioness that was nothing but a slim living being. But maybe Zira would allow her to show that she had a willing heart? She would fight for the pride, no matter how little it was, and with training from Monstro she would become quite fit.

Simba's head looked back at Chaka's words and he scooped Kiara up with his paw. "Kiara...Kiara...can you hear me." he said and licked her cheek softly. The King looked around frantically and grabbed Kiara by the scruff, he ran down to the watering hole.

Nala looked to Sarafina, "Watch the cubs!" she ordered and followed close behind Simba. When Simba sat Kiara down she gently splashed water on the young cub's face, "Kiara..wake up." she cried softly. Nala looked to Simba, "What do we do?"she asked upset.

Sarafina grabbed Chaka and walked over to Kopa, "Kiara will be fine loves. She's had a long day, we all have." she whispered. She nuzzled Kopa and Chaka, "You need to be strong." she cooed.

Diamante' smiled at Folle, "Well your safe now." she said softly. She rubbed Folle's head with her paw, "Run along." she added. Diamante' reclined back to her hinds and looked over the barren outlands, somehow all this unusual company made her smile.

"Kiara!" Kopa cried, suddenly concerned for his little sister. He nuzzled her face softly. "Wake p," he whispered. A sudden realization struck him as fuzzy images of his aunt and uncle flew into his mind. "Dad, who's gonna tell Aunt 'Tani and Uncle Mheetu?" he asked curiously. "They're so far away!"
